Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 88 - Official Discussion Thread

Writing this before I read any other replies so I don’t get influenced so sorry if I’m being redundant to everything else going on in the thread but…I loved this a lot more than I thought I would. I never thought about Mai growing up (her physical body) as well but I suppose they want to keep the Tr...

Re: What was your first introduction to Dragon Ball?

Like many others, when Kai was on TV (it felt like they were always showing Namek episodes...) as an elementary school kid. My cousin had a few volumes here and there at his house. But it never really caught my interest, because it felt like they did absolutely NOTHING all the time. No one at school...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

It's not that surprising that a series would get a good character designer and animator like Shintani and Kubota. Yamamuro is too busy with SDBH to also work on a new series. Furthermore, he was specifically barred from working on Movie #20 if memory serves. Shintani is their character designer for...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Shintani, Kubota and Toriyama allegedly working on the web anime, and Kubota confirmed by Ajay. Now I'm wondering what the hell the other animated series could be about if this is all true.

Re: I owe an apology to this composer......

Very fond of the lowkey "peaceful" tracks but I like his orchestral stuff too. I usually find orchestral tracks in soundtracks to be boring, but I guess because of this guy's extensive work with synths, it affects the way he writes those "epic" pieces too in a way that makes them...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I don't know about Super Hero, but I'd like to see Broly's script rewritten so that it weaves into the main story more. The themes of the story in regards to identity and Saiyan race could probably tie into the Granolah arc well, with how Goku sees himself. I don't know, I don't necessarily think it...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

The DBSChronicles tweet implies that the announcement info comes from the guy who originally posted it (dbs20191) yet seems to have extreme confidence in the replies that this leak is "Not gonna be wrong this time". Wonder where this assurance comes from. In any case, I hope they will adap...

Re: Dreams you had about Dragon Ball

I dreamt earlier today that Future Trunks came back in the next arc of the Super manga. And I just kept thinking, what, this again?

The other week I had a dream about if regular people could fuse, but no DB characters were present.

Re: Adult Swim vs Disney XD for Super. Which do you prefer?

This question makes me think back on how Shippuden was on Disney XD for a while (which is how I caught it on TV when I still had cable). No idea how well it did but I'm sure those numbers are out there...in any case, I'd probably go with Adult Swim because I think more people would be going out of t...

Re: Should Young Jijii get hired by the Dragon Ball Room?

I doubt Youngjijii will ever get hired because of his hentai history... I'm not sure if that will stop them from hiring him, since there are at least two people named in here that have worked on Dragon Ball that have a pornographic history. This has happened with other popular series where they wil...

Re: Best Villain Redemption Arc

I don't know about best, because I like all of them, but Vegeta's is the only one that really keeps me on my toes and goes to very unexpected places. Even as someone who unironically loves the power of friendship and love, it was exciting to see how reluctant Vegeta is to become an ally, and I feel ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread

I now think they put ALL of their marketing behind the One Piece film, because they knew Dragon Ball didn't need it. There's no way the lack of marketing WASN'T intentional, now. I'm confused by this, I feel like if anything, One Piece would be the one that doesn't need marketing. I'm not super fam...

Re: Would you watch Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F' and Broly in the movie theaters again?

Definite no to the first two, even if it was free, even if it was subtitled, even if the theater was empty. Once in the comfort of my home is enough.

I'm sad that I didn't get to see Broly in theaters. That is probably one of two movies I desperately wish I could, if I had the chance.

Re: Do You Prefer Reading The Manga In Color Or BW?

I haven't seen too many colored pages of this manga specifically, but I think the shift might be weird since the BW is super simple and easy for your eyes to digest all the information on the page. The original manga doesn't have complicated tones or shading, so seeing it shaded with all the busy co...

Re: Favorite Moments from the manga

This is coming from someone who's just read the manga, for the reason that it does feel more condensed as previously stated in the thread, and I am too impatient to watch the anime. But I've got a lot: One is everything with Majin Vegeta, right before when he was watching Goten and Trunks fight, up ...

Re: New Simplistic Transformations Are Good, Actually

Agree with the topic title but only for superficial reasons. I just happen to like SSB (for Goku and Vegito) and Rose the most. The concept behind most of the transformations are really good (SSJ4, UI, UE, SSG come to mind for me) but I just dislike the aesthetic execution. That's why I'm glad that ...

Re: Is Dragon Ball the biggest manga/anime series globally?

If that Wikipedia list is actually inaccurate, then I'll want to say yes to the topic question. There are other series that have been insanely popular but seemed to die down really fast, so I can't imagine those series have the game/movie/merchandise sales to beat out Dragon Ball. Also, there is thi...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread

How much do you guys think the increased number of theaters screening this is affecting the BO? I honestly don't know much about this stuff, I took a look at a few different anime movies and it looks like DBSSH's 3,000ish theaters is quite a large number. And if this means the net profit overall wil...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. I love the structure of the film, it feels very much like a typical movie whereas the pacing and tone clashes of the other movies (BoG and beyond) felt odd to watch. Was honestly expecting an epilogue scene where it would show everyone a few months late...
