Re: Vic Mignogna

is a laughably absurd and moronic false equivalence and COLOSSAL lack of ethical prioritizing and perspective. Different people are entitled to different opinions. You are free to protect what you feel is morally right, as are others. For other people, it might be a matter of protecting the falsely...

Re: Vic Mignogna

Raping accusations can ruin entire careers on nowdays, even if they are true or not. It's perfectly natural to be on panic when someone accuses you of something like that. Not saying he is inocent, because he being guilty is still a possibility too, but we cannot say with what we have until now wit...

Re: Do you still care about the end of Z?

I don't have any problem with it being retconned, and would likely fully support it.

Canon and continuity are up to the original author in my opinion, so if what AT envisions happening no longer matches the original serialization, his new vision is all I'm interested in.

Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Goten, kid Trunks.

Wouldn't mind if Gohan was retired too.

Who are the top 5 most important characters in DB-DBZ-DBS?

I'm going to leave the definition of 'important' up to an individual's interpretation, but to me it denotes something along the lines of significance to the story. The first few spots seem pretty clear • Goku (main character) • Vegeta (enemy then rival then secondary protagonist) • Gohan (major play...

Re: Going back to Adventures in the franchise

It would be welcome, but it's difficult as long as Goku can teleport. A big part of adventure arcs is the actual journey - and as long as you have a mechanism to move freely, you lose a lot of that. I haven't much of GT, but from my understanding they got around the problem by nerfing the technique ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Things I liked in this chapter: • Freeza was handled pretty well. Even though he wasn't able to hurt Jiren, he wasn't embarrassed. He outwitted Toppo and Dyspo, and got two eliminations. • Cool to see UI omen make another appearance. I honestly didn't think the form would appear at all in the manga...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'm pleasantly surprised we got to see UI Omen. Hope we see it again before the complete version, looks great. Open questions for whoever wants to answer: 1) How many more chapters left to wrap up this arc (including wish/epilogue)? 2) Do you think the manga will include Vegeta's Blue Evolution form...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I enjoyed this chapter for the most part. Pros: • Art has been pretty good the past couple chapters, after one month (I think it was 36?) felt rushed and had some weird art (like that 17 panel). • In the anime, it made it seem like Goku was hand-feeding Kale/Caulifla. Here, they feel like a threat, ...

Re: Why do so many Z fans refuse to watch the original Dragon Ball?

I can’t speak for anyone other than myself, but watching portions of the original DB just feels like a chore for the most part. I have tried time and time again to watch it all the way through, but have stalled each time. That isn’t to say I haven’t watched the complete series - I have probably watc...

Re: Your Personal Canon

• Jaco The Galactic Patrolman/Dragon Ball Minus • Original Dragon Ball Manga (chapters 1 through 517 pre-timeskip) * • Toriyama's direct statements from guidebooks and interviews If there is actual canon in DB, that would be the most accurate definition of it. DBS is too big mess to be placed in 10...

If Toyotaro were to go back and fill in the RoF arc today, what would it be like?

At the time, I was pretty disappointed that we didn't get Toyotaro's take on RoF. The reasons are obvious and well-known: (1) The Super manga began as a promotional product (and part of why it skipped ahead was to hype/tease the anime during the RoF rehashing). (2) He already drew three chapters pro...

Good list here from user DBZGSKOSDH . I don't know how to handle Super. T...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Love how Toyotaro drew Golden Freeza. Makes me wish he drew the Freeza arc (I know I've said this a dozen times in this thread; though I guess by omitting it, he's avoided the power scaling debacle that is 'Saiyan Beyond God'). He does seem like he's weaker in the manga than he was in the anime, whi...

Re: How would you change power levels in the series?

Well I think the power levels specifically kind of are what they are. If we’re talking about power scaling more broadly: (1) Only users who can control their ki have growth in their power levels (this makes Goku’s gains in the originals Dragon Ball more believable as prior to training with Kami, he ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

Just a thought, I wonder if durability could be considered a, if not the, defining trait of pure-blooded Saiyans. They can take a hell of a beating, and I don't think I can think of examples when any full Saiyans have been killed without facing somebody significantly stronger (the Raditz thing is th...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Couple questions: 1. How strong are base Goku/Vegeta in the manga? Beerus didn't fight Goku in his base, and Toyo skipped the RoF arc. I'm pretty sure we can't take the preview manga for the movie as part of his continuity, so all we have are narrator's notes and flashbacks, so their base forms don'...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

I really never could get into the Buu Saga stuff from after Vegeta blows himself up, and before Goku/Vegeta escape from Buu with everyone he absorbed. Honestly, all of the Gotenks/Super Buu stuff just drags on, and there isn't really any payoff in the end. Whether it's the original anime, the manga,...
