I couldn't stop cracking up at the first Mike & Julian bit. My hat is off to those fellas.

Re: Episode #0311 (30 September 2012)
This was a really fun discussion to take part in. I don't know many "old-timers" anymore so reminiscing was fun! I still think the Butoden games are some of the most fun Dragon Ball games, period.

Re: [RUMOR] DBZ Kinect Game!
I consider myself the resident Kinect expert 'round these parts (Check out my reviews! ) and I'm going in with cautious optimism. Yeah, there's a lot of bad Kinect games, but there's plenty of good ones too; the main difference is that bad ones are made by people who don't understand the technology....

Re: Episode #0279 (27 November 2011)
After listening to this (I'm not an avid podcast follower but I did get the last few Manga Review eps and will probably get all of the GT ones), I seem to remain to be the ONLY fan of Pan that I know of. All of the traits that seem to make her annoying to most, I find rather cute. Heck, in my young...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I just preordered the second wave of Dragon Ball Heroes figures as well as a starter card pack, a Saiyan Heroes card pack and a Freeza's Clan pack. I know I'm never going to get to play Heroes, but the figures are too badass and the card art too beautiful for me to pass up.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I was checking HLJ and Play-Asia and was coming up empty handed.

Where'd you order them from? I must know. If I don't get these figures there's a good chance I might die. You don't want my blood on your hands, do you?

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread
Those are AWESOME. Any word on when they're coming out?
I'm really impressed they're making one of "generic create-a-character"! All I did was modify his colors for my game, so I've got to have his figure.

Re: Which names to go with?
"Akira" (like "Sakura") is one of those names that's tricky to pronounce as a native English speaker if you haven't heard it in Japanese. You got it right, though, emphasis on the first syllable (AH-kira).
(Also since I mentioned it, it's SAH-ku-ra, not suh-KOO-ruh)

Re: Which names to go with?
The only name spelling that REALLY irks me is when Freeza is spelled with an "ie" instead of "ee." There's absolutely NO reason to ever spell it that way and to this day I don't know why they ever chose to do so. It loses the pun and really adds nothing except a change for the sa...

Re: Episode #0277 (06 November 2011)
Thinking about it, though, this isn't the first North American-released Dragon Ball game to have an inconsistency with its voice cast. 1997's Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout for the PlayStation featured an English voice cast (which was different than FUNimation's; Steven Blum was Gokuu!) for all of the p...

Re: Episode #0277 (06 November 2011)
Haha, I like that. "It wasn't a mistake, it's a feature!" I haven't been playing it in English so I had NO IDEA that was even the case until Dustin mentioned it. I'm absolutely BAFFLED that it made it out the door like that. I had a (ultimate) blast being a part of the conversation, though...

Re: Which names to go with?
I think as long as people know who you're referring to it's fine. As long as you're not going with a name that's been altered for a regional dub (like the "H" word) there really isn't a "right" way to spell them as they're (for the most part) made-up Japanese words being written ...

Re: Where to Now For the Dragon Ball Video Game Franchise?
I'd personally like to see a Jump Super Stars style game, but for consoles. Something like Battle Stadium D.O.N. but with more series.
I think Dragon Ball fighting games need to rest for a few years, and that would be a perfect time for a new crossover game.

Re: IGN review of Ultimate Tenkaichi:
I've always hated the idea of a numerical score (or stars and what have you) on reviews because I feel like they undermine the entire rest of the review. People scroll past all the text, see the number, and they're done. Not to mention big name games will often get high scores simply because they're...

Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
How's everyone liking Hero Mode? I'm enjoying it far more than I thought I would. Even though I just took the default character (long sleeve shirt under gi, "bed" hair) and changed some colors around, I'm already quite attached to him. While the story isn't exactly deep or innovative (so f...

Re: How did you decide your user name?
My old handle I used for online gaming had my first name in it, which I kind of got uncomfortable with after a while because I'm kind of weird. So I started using "Samurai Kappa" on Xbox Live, because I like samurai and kappas are my favorite Japanese mythical beast. When I signed up for P...

Re: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi Game Play (Post-Release Discuss
I just got it yesterday and I'm having a (pardon the pun) blast with it. What I didn't like about the Raging Blast games (from what little I played of them) was it was very easy to get trapped by your opponent. I remember trying to beat Raditz FOUR TIMES in RB1 but he kicked my ass easily each time,...

Re: Episode #0259 (22 May 2011)
I had to figure out WHAT my old login information for the board was because I had to come back and comment on this awesome episode! Thanks, Mike and Meri, for helping me travel back in time! My first exposure to Dragon Ball was when I was in fourth grade (which puts it around '93 or '94) and I had a...
