Re: Am I the only one who feels like I missed out on Dragon Ball?

At risk of sounding like an old fart - You have to keep in mind that you are talking to a fair few people on this forum who are deeply nostalgic and look back on the days when they were 14. Just try to enjoy it! Besides, you have witnessed Dragonball's recent resurgence in relevance and popularity w...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.

Z must’ve done well on Cartoon Network UK since I recall there was that one time they had those full weekend marathons. Literally a whole day of the Saiyan saga, Namek saga etc. God help anyone who hated DBZ and wanted to watch their favourite shows on Cartoon Network. It suited me fine. However, I ...

Re: Did Dragon Ball air in the UK in the 90s?

As a kid who was desperate to watch Dragonball Z back in the year 2000 before having satellite, I can confirm it definitely did not air on terrestrial TV. The only anime I can recall around this time were Pokémon, Digimon and Monster Rancher.

Re: Level 1.1 back...in stock?

I think people care because they didn’t have the opportunity to buy it the first time around and it tends to be sold by third parties for an extortionate price nowadays. People have seen the screenshots and want to experience that in motion on 50+ inch TVs which are much more of a standard now than ...

Re: Is Dragon Ball creatively bankrupt at this point?

There is no denying the formula Dragonball came up with has been done countless times over the last few decades. It has been honed and refined by the works that it has inspired. It will forever be a beautiful piece of art, held as one of the greats for its achievements. However, in this modern day i...

Re: Is it time to accept Faulconer OST did it better than the original?

I liked Faulconer’s OST as a kid and it felt special to me being a fan of DBZ in the UK in the midst of watching the Android Westwood dub with its corny Megaman music.. That being said, when I first heard the Japanese score, it blew everything out of the water. Alongside the inaccurate fan subs, hea...

Amen.

When they’re saying stuff like that, it devalues their whole argument for me.

God help artistic creators when people like this exist. In their eyes, everyone should conform and walk in a straight line. Complete dullards.

Re: Dragon Ball rewatch, week 3 - DB episodes 11-15

I struggled with these last few episodes of the Shenlong arc.. The whole thing felt incredibly slow compared to the fun adventure prior to it. A massive drag with stiff animation. It was really nice how Yamcha almost takes on the role of a leader! I quite enjoyed his moments and how he has warmed to...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

By using a generic anime upscaling filter. haha i don't think so, this is what the opening looks like after upscaling it, just compare them Upscaled https://youtu.be/dPwOO3-4ojk Remastered? https://youtu.be/b-J302TNg2g The only difference I see is that the two are using slightly different, but both...

Re: Dragon Ball rewatch, week 2 - DB episodes 6-10

I often find number ratings to be misleading, as a rating out of 10 can boil down to interpretation and tends to be pretty subjective. A 7/10 for me is a pretty good score. A fair bit better than average - however some people may view a 7 as mediocre and not worthwhile. There’s my 2 cents on it.. Pr...

Re: Yet Another Dub Error

If I recall, there’s the scene where Cell fires the Kamehameha towards Earth and SSJ2 Gohan mutters something. However, in the dub there’s no line. This was a very long time ago when I saw this though, so I’m not 100% sure if it was fixed in the Orange Bricks and so on.

I’m amazed they actually showed Freeza’s horn poking out of Kuririn. That was a pretty seamless edit as well, despite how against censorship I am.

Re: Dragon Ball rewatch, week 1 - DB episodes 1-5

A pleasant surprise - this is how I would describe the first 5 episodes of Dragon Ball. I have not watched the original series of Dragon Ball since I was in secondary school. Back in the days when I would frequent IRC channels and play Budokai 3 on PS2. An easier time. I am now 29 and working a full...

Re: The Good old days of Dragonball websites.

Finally found another old site that I remembered. Gojita's Domain. Unfortunately, their old clips seem to have been lost to time, as none of them are backed up by the Wayback Machine. If anyone else remembers any old sites with those really crappy quality clips that may have had them backed up, ple...
