Re: Just how is the Freeza saga the best one?
Besides what has been mentioned so far--which I totally agree with--there was also certain ways that Toriyama set up the tone that I really liked. I'll list a few of 'em. 1) Hiding, and the feel of being hunted. Krillin and Gohan were trying to gather information and collect the dragon balls in sec...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Level Blu-Ray Sets Audio Help.
Can someone tell me why people think Mono means the sound quality is bad? Mono simply means "one" (just like a monocle, which is a glass that only covers one eye). In the case of audio, it means that there is one audio source. There is no 'left', there is no 'right', 'behind' or 'in front'...

Re: Best Way To Put Subs on The JP Dragon Boxes
I've already gone through and done this. It took forever and it was done manually. You can't import the subs into Aegisub though (it won't accept idx files). Also theres so many more problems doing this than you think, you'll see what I mean when you get started (hint R1 video content doesnt match R...

Re: Japanese Audio Sync Issues - Dragon Box
I actually tried Capstan. I didnt get any good results at all. Things got a lot worse actually...It made me sad :( These timings were done manually by me using the Japanese DBOX as the source. I manually re-synced the FUNimation dub as well which required vastly different timings however because of ...

Am I the only person to have noticed that Kai has INSANE frame jitter? In the Freeza Saga portion? Yeah, quite noticeable. Others? Not really. Really? I see it everywhere. Heres a quick example from the Saiyan Saga that I uploaded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ORT5Z3t7kg&feature=youtu.be

I thought I'd put up a video of "The Death of Raditz" from my filtered version for comparative purposes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tak8uKZQKbA Always so wonderful looking. T.T Seriously, what has to be done to get these? Do you have scrips for each part of each episode (recap, part ...

I wasnt expecting much from this release. I'm happy with my filtered Dbox's until hopefully Toei some day decides to do a proper 1080p release

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" Coming To Blu-ray (Updated 12/31
That said, 1080p is good enough for me and most people, but 4k would still look noticeably better :D I don't think it would, actually. For one thing it would make the inherent graininess super preposterously over-obvious... also it is my opinion that 1080p is already good enough that going higher t...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" Coming To Blu-ray (Updated 12/31
Just for the record, I think 1080p Blu-Ray is as high-definition as DBZ needs to be. The show was just never meant to be viewed at such high resolutions. Any higher resolution wouldn't really help it IMO. It would be even more blurry and soft-looking, since the show is animated on 16mm for the vast...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" Coming To Blu-ray (Updated 12/31
A 4K release of dbz would be amazing except you would have to expect to pay a lot per episode. 16mm grainy film at that resolution is going to take A LOT of space if you want to have decent quality without macroblocking.

Filtering was done through avisynth. Color correction was done by both avisynth and virtualdub.darkknightkryta wrote:What free software did you use for those shots? I've been using avidemux and I couldn't get any good filters from it (Automagically removes the colour cast from episodes though...)

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Season One" Coming To Blu-ray (Updated 11
It's funny. I posted this a while ago. I made it before the new Blu-ray's footage was unveiled (I slapped the BttF logo on it after the fact), and I was shockingly accurate. Except I think mine's backgrounds are actually much better than the water colored, layered crap on the new Blu-rays. Le...
