Re: Bizarre DBZ TV spot from Japan (1993)

I've always wondered if there has been a full version or at least a name associated with the song used in that video.

Re: Does Anyone Own This Plush Doll?

New progress? Details? Hopefully. Been talking with someone who collected plushies in the 90/2000's and they don't seem to recognize it. Neither did their friend who was more into DBZ. However, we may now have a manufacturer: Banpresto Banpresto is apparently the main supplier of UFO Catcher toys an...

Re: Does Anyone Own This Plush Doll?

Some progress maybe? I dunno. While doing a search for some DB related stuff, I came across these Virtua Fighter plush toys. Here. When compared to the Goku I'm looking for, it seems these ones may have come from the same manufacturer. They're also advertised as UFO Catcher toys, which means they we...

Does Anyone Own This Plush Doll?

A bit of a shot in the dark on a question like this but I'm just trying to cover as many places I can think to ask this. Story time. Back in 2013 I came across an Ebay listing for a Super Saiyan 3 Goku doll that I remember really made me really laugh when I first saw it. I almost considered buying i...

Re: Other than general plot, is Toriyama working on the anime?

He provides character designs as well as plot outlines from what I understand. Toei (Anime) and Toyotaro (Manga) then take those elements and adapt them into their mediums with basically free reign to interpret it however they want, which is why there are noticeable differences between the two.

Re: Rarest Dragon Ball dubs

Another i've been trying to find is the Hindi dub for Tree of Might, just because i'm curious whether or not they used the rescored Saban edit like with the TV series. I'm pretty sure it would be based off the uncut home release since Dead Zone and World's Strongest are also the same. Remember that...

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread

Anybody know when the pre-order SH figuarts Shen long goes live? Word on the street is the preorder will drop as early as June 1st. This seems to match up with the recent trend of pre order dropping 4 months prior to release. However, I'm Not sure if we even have a "confirmed" October 201...

Re: DBZ Malaysian Dub episodes have been found!

If you can, providing a clip or two would be great. arent these the Ocean dub episodes?? Looking at the cover and logo they seem like thet might be? The Speedy logo on the packaging almost guarantees this isn't the Ocean dub, unless these are fake. These are definitely just the Ocean Dub episodes d...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread

Yeah, I think I'm misunderstanding the meaning of 1:1. What exactly does 1:1 mean? A 1:1 translation would be a translation that's perfectly representative of the source. 1:1 is a ratio, it simply means "equivalent" Then I do think dubs should be 1:1 adaptations. Expecting a dub to be 1:1...

Re: Mike's Upcoming JPNS Toy Releases Thread

If I am honest I have never been a fan of any Bandai DB products, the closest I have come to liking one of their products is there HG line but only being under 10 cms tall each (and the fact that they are selling for $100 a pop for a set of 4 figures!!) kind of defeats the whole purpose of them bei...

Re: Nostalgia VS Objective Criticism of DBZ VS Kai's English Dubs

As much as I like Travis Willingham as Cell and Kyle Herbert as future Gohan, they honestly don't really hold a candle to Daimian Clarke as both. Bruce Faulconer's music in my opinion fits perfectly with the show. Even better than any composer before or after him. And this dub is what got me into D...

Re: Things that grind your gears

Superman is a specific character when what I think is Goku comes off as a pure goody two shoes generic superhero. The problem is that the most notable and first superhero is Superman. He's the root of superheroes. So while Schemmel's DBZ Goku doesn't sound like the DCAU Superman, he does come off a...

Re: Things that grind your gears

While I'm not a fan of the old Funimation dub of DBZ and how they altered Goku's personality, I don't see how Schemmel sounds like Superman in that dub. He doesn't sound anything like Tim Daly and George Newbern. They mean how he sounds like a Super Man type character. Like 8000 , I still don't hea...

Re: What if Future Trunks stayed in the present?

Honestly, I would have preferred in Trunks and Mai stayed in the present, at least until after the Universe Survival arc. The gang can draft Future Trunks into their group for the tournament and he would actually have a reason to stay around: The wish from the Super Dragon Balls. In a nutshell, Univ...

Re: Why doesn't a villain ever try to blow up the sun?

I still don't see a big difference. Okay, you didn't say that, but the effect of blowing up the moon is competely different than blowing up a sun. Do you not understand the effects of blowing up the moon would have on the Earth? It wouldn't be nearly as devastating as losing the source of life in t...

Re: Why doesn't a villain ever try to blow up the sun?

You don't need a moon to sustain life. You need a sun. I didn't say that, my point was that it's unlikely they' take in to account the effects of blowing up the sun when they never took into account the effects of losing the moon. I still don't see a big difference. Okay, you didn't say that, but t...

It seems like it will inevitably come back to this issue, especially when a new canon thread is created.
The only person making any sort of issue out of it is you.

The best ever? No.

The best ever to me? Still no.

Do I still love it? Yes. It may not be in my top 10 but it holds a special place.
