It dawned on my that when Roshi blew up the moon, the Rabbit gang was up there and never got wished back. The people Nappa killed were also never wished back. What other instances where this happened?

Yeah, seems like a few of his industry friends and colleagues have been paying tribute on social media the last few hours. What a shame, he was really young. He seemed like a really nice guy from what I was able to gleam over the years, too.

It's really surreal to see someone from those early ...

According to what I've seen online (no official word from what I can see), Mike McFarland passed away

Edit: Anime News Network updated his page (no article yet)

Does anyone know if there has been any project used to archive Dragon Ball media through Domesday Duplicator? I figure it would be the best way to capture original broadcasts and things like the edited FUNi dub as it would capture the tapes in the best quality (if not better than their DVD ...

Been digitizing fansubs I've collected over the years as a way to slim down what I have. It's been pretty fun and got me back into trying to collect more fansubs if I come across them. Did Imperfect Cell and some of the films.

Has anyone else gotten into backing up some of their older VHS'?

I was just thinking, are we sure this isnt a Stan Lee situation?

She did a signing in NY in may that was $5000. https://speedycomics.ae/products/wave-2 ... -goku-copy
Between the prices and the amount she's gone back and forth to the U.S (which used to be super rare)

Has anyone's pre-orders shipped yet?

At the risk of repeating stuff that you already know, the Pinoeer DVDs don't have closed captions either, but the corresponding VHS releases claim to have them on the packaging ( Closed Captions and Subtitles are distinct features on DVDs. Closed captions generally aren't supported by modern ...

Seeing the latest post of the main page made me realized that I don't think anyone had backed up the close captioning from the ocean dub nor does the DVD's provide any subtitles. I was wondering if anyone has worked on this in the past?

Hey, long time! Cant remember the last time I seen you post on here. Have you tried googling for any artbooks?

VegettoEX wrote: Thu May 14, 2026 11:35 am The movie wasn't produced in 4K so you're getting an upscale, but obviously it's going to boost better compression overall, and you get some moderate HDR out of it (I wasn't blown away by it). Still has the green tint, though.

Hmm I might skip it then. Thank you for the input!

I see the 4k is cheap on Amazon (us) right now but I cant find any comparisons to see if there is any sort of upgrade from the regular bluray. Anyone have any suggestions on if its worth an upgrade?

Yea, I'm not one of those. I found out about the Yamcha meme through TFS because I don't use Twitter and I never used Japanese social media. I actually found early TFS to be kind of boring cause they took direct lines and recontextualized them, or just took already known jokes of the show and used ...

Yamcha's death pose and the tag "ヤムチャしやがって…" ("you were Yamcha") first emerged in early 2009 as a derivative of the colloquial expression "無茶しやがって…" ("you were reckless") which has been used on Nico Nico Douga[1] when referring to someone who's ...

is there yamcha dead jokes that predate TFS?

I find the whole Yamcha death joke thing weird. I get TFS made it what it is today but it was a big deal and 100% taken seriously in the original context. It's a joke thats gone too far tho.

I wanted to post about the French president doing the Kame Hame Ha but just did not get around it. It is nice to see someone else did it  .

And of course Goku's voice will be cheered as a veteran war hero in Japan, and globally, her legacy will live forever and I am happy for her.
