Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.

What utterly unfortunate news. Definitely going to echo previously stated sentiments that 68 years is still way too young, and completely unexpected. Akira Toriyama was, in my opinion, one of the most creative and hardest working artists of our time. I would certainly be hard pressed to name someone...

Re: What if Kid Buu had won the final battle (consequences?)

Yeah I kind of remember Goku saying that they'd get slaughtered after they left Buu's stomach. Do you remember what scene that happened in? He says it after they separate Gohan and the others from Evil Boo. Chapter: 507 (DBZ 313), P12.4-5 Context: after Goku and Vegeta revert Boo back to regular ev...

Re: What if Kid Buu had won the final battle (consequences?)

Some more onto the already impressive list; 8. It's implied that Goku can beat Kid Buu if not for the stamina drain, so use one of the three healers; Kibitokai, Dende and Buu to essentially have the same healing capabilities as Buu and brute force the fight. Perhaps Kibitokai and Buu's healing capab...

Re: Cell's Explosion and Goku's noble sacrifice.

It's just more terrible writing from a terribly written saga. Even in the manga, Goku still had enough time to grab King Kai and teleport back to Earth. He didn't because of two possible in-universe reasons, and one guaranteed out-of-universe reason: Possible In-Universe Reason A: Goku was being an...

Re: Can Kaio-Ken be used defensively?

I figure that, as Goku was apparently using some super high level of Kaio Ken while fighting Freeza, the durability increase was a part of how he withstood Freeza for so long before changing tactics and trying the Genki Dama. Using it as a purely defensive maneuver seems to have never crossed Goku'...

For that record, does Dr. Brief have a first name? Or his wife, Mrs. Brief? I seem to recall that Bulma was the only one in the family with an actual first name.

Re: Manga Errors

For that record, Piccolo's size is also erratic and inconsistent in both the manga and the anime, he's usually supposed to be pretty huge, around the size of Freeza's second form/suppression, significantly bigger than Android 17, almost as tall as Nappa, etc, but in some frames and scenes he's equal...

Re: Vegeta the most evil?

Vegeta, before his self-destruction against Majin Buu, asks Piccolo if he'll ever see Kakarrot in the afterlife. Piccolo then says, with very little hesitation, that Vegeta cumulatively committed far too many evil acts and will be reincarnated. Vegeta and Goku's souls will be in two completely diffe...

Re: What if Krillin's Kienzan DID kill Nappa?

Vegeta radiated with cockiness and toyed with Gohan during much more desperate circumstances, after witnessing firsthand that Gohan was capable of massive fluctuations of power when enraged. Vegeta's arrogance knows no bounds, he views himself as a godly prince and regards everyone, even Nappa, as a...

Re: How did Piccolo get to King Kai's planet?

Reading this thread really got me thinking about other implications pertaining to Piccolo's training with Kaio. You guys make good points about Piccolo maintaining his soul, since reincarnation would probably affect Kami's existence, but how could he keep his body? As I understood it, you needed to ...

Re: Why were 17 and 18 evil in Trunks' timeline?

I always liked the theory of 17 and 18's evil being a result of Goku's actions in Future Trunks' timeline. More specifically, while Goku killed Freeza and King Cold immediately, he spared the henchmen and let them go. The henchmen then wrought havoc on several cities and pre-cyborg 17 and 18 saw the...

Re: If I was Cell...

Yeah, Cell is kind of an idiot, but what do you expect? He's made out of Goku (dumbass), Vegeta (arrogant), and freakin' Freeza's (arrogant dumbass) cells. He was doomed from the start intellectually, even Piccolo's cells couldn't save him.

Re: So, Vegeta has become "pure hearted" after Kid Buu?

Saving the universe, especially in Cell's case, was more incidental than anything. Vegeta had his own reasons and self-interest (or need for self preservation) for wanting Cell and Buu dead and I'm pretty sure "to save humanity" was pretty low on that list. Case in point, Vegeta never apol...

Re: So, Vegeta has become "pure hearted" after Kid Buu?

Wait, the Vegeta who, just weeks (or even days, the Buu Arc didn't really convey time well) ago, turned into a monster and killed hundreds or thousands of people casually just to fight Goku? Even if you want to argue that Babidi manipulated him (he didn't), the fact that Vegeta had a substantive amo...

Re: If you could change the course/result of a fight...

I always thought that the Saibamen were a touch too superfluous and kind of reeked of filler, I would have just had everyone fight Nappa. I get that they existed to show the prowess of all the fighters but I think their fight against Nappa showed how much more powerful they had become. Also, I can't...

Re: Who is worse? Goku (Boo Saga) or Vegeta (Cell Saga)?

I would say that Goku was "worse" simply because he was the only one with any power to do anything in Boo Arc and the only one who could easily defeat Boo. This wasn't really the case for the Cell Arc, there were quite a few factors that contributed to Cell's completion. Most notably Kurir...

Re: Cell a Solar System Buster ?

With a battle power of 10, Goku ran 100 meters in 8.5 seconds. That's 11.76 meters per second. With a battle power of 334 (because he was wearing his weighted clothes), Goku ran 1,000,000 kilometers (the length of Serpent's Road) in around 207 days, which would make him around 55.91 meters per seco...

Re: Why did Son Gohan keep his body?

Yeah, to add to that, Bardock did seem to have at least a small amount of fondness for his people, as illustrated by him trying to save them, rather than saving himself, which would have been rather easy to do. Vegeta, at least at first, is just a total sociopathic degenerate who cares for no one bu...

I don't know, the fact that pre-separation Kami was able to restrain, hide and eventually expel his evil nature strongly implies to me that his good "half" dominated his evil "half" in terms of personality, even if pre-separation Kami was hardly a saint. Assuming he follows the l...
