Shunsuke Kikuchi vs other Contemporary Japanese Composers

People have said in the past that Kikuchi pales in comparison of other contemporary Japanese composers. Like the guy who does Lupin The third and so on. What do you think?

Who Commissioned the kid friendly Super Funi dub?

It aired in Australia and the UK, but does Funimation always do kid friendly dubs of Dragon Ball or did someone really did commissioned it?

I would love it if it was The CW who did but I doubt it, same for Nicktoons.

Ok, that was rude of me and pointlessly so. But it is REALLY unfair what they go through and it shouldnt be normalized.

EDIT: Also it wasnt Julie or me who made this thread political. Nor it was krump, but this sort of cult of work suffering REALLY shouldnt be a thing.

Re: Looking back, most transformations in Z were just lazy ways to extend the fight

I don't think transformations are an inherently lazy story device, even if it became a common one. They were always there to push the story forward in Z. You can make the case that the way in which they were utilized was lazy from time-to-time, but I feel that comes down to execution moreso than th...

I have to defend Julie this time around, there is nothing political about admitting how inhumane the whole weekly manga publication is. Many mangaka end up sick or dying.

Re: If USA had Toonami, Canada had YTV (Dragon Ball On YTV memorial)

I wonder if it was more or less popular than it was on the USA. Always remember: Dragon Ball wasn't particularly unpopular in the USA in its original syndication run. It did pretty well for its poor timeslot, but Funimation (not Seagull, their distributor) pulled the plug halfway through the origin...

Re: Parts of Dragon Ball that you avoid showing to children as a parent or caretaker

Z also has violent parts that go beyond just fighting. I remember as a kid seeing second form Freeza impale Krillin, that was brutal and a childhood memory. So no, at least be 17 plus to watch Z imo. Bruh, what? Even the average Looney Tunes cartoon is fairly violent. Most kids my age in my era gra...

Parts of Dragon Ball that you avoid showing to children as a parent or caretaker

I am not making this thread to make controversy or say "DRAGONBALLIZIMMORALZ!" but I would like to know what you as a parent or caretaker AND as a DB fan what you avoid showing to children about it.

God, you are so awesome man. But you misundestood the question. I meant that if OG BLT Dragon Ball was more popular than it was in the USA. But I LOVED your enthusiasm and information. I made this thread so it could be nurtured and contained in one place.

If USA had Toonami, Canada had YTV (Dragon Ball On YTV memorial)

Now Canadian Broadcast fans have a thread of our own, better than that depressing Ocean Kai thread. I was inspired to make the thread by this video I found on youtube, where the very first episode of Dragon Ball was presented to an entire generation of Canadian kids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
