Dragon Ball Z stamp collection?
A little while ago, my father went to a trip to South East Asia and he brought me back this as a souvenir. I still haven't opened it to check the content but I want to know if this is an official product licensed by Shueisha and not one of those crazy bootleg products typically found in these region...

Re: Dragon Ball Without Its Creator
If you asked this question 10/11 years ago I'd probably said something like "The story is all done. There's no need to get concerned about the status of the franchise". But right now? I feel like the pillar that holds it within itself is gone and my cynical mind tells me things will get wo...

Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
Came to pay my respects One cannot underestimate the impact this one man had on not just the manga industry, anime industry, but to every artist around the world. My artist phase in my late teen years to early adult years were heavily inspired by his artwork. He created an entire generation that wan...

Re: Shueisha, Twitter and DMCA
What's insane is that Shueisha didn't make any official statement about this affair at all they haven't denied at all of this. Also noticed non of the big anime news outlets covered any of this. Anime News Network, Crunchyroll, when they usually post these piracy and DMCA-related news all t...

I just got a word on this. What's going on all of a sudden?
EDIT: I also heard they're doing it with One Piece content.

The Last Airbender bored me to hell. Evolution did not.

Re: Team Four Star's influence on Dragon Ball's revival
The weirdest thing to me is Team Four Star was able to turn that sub par product into a career while Little Kuriboh's YuGiOh never had that level of success despite being a much better product made in no where near as complicated a manner. Maybe it's just right place, right time and right property....

Re: Team Four Star's influence on Dragon Ball's revival
Isn't this like saying the Star Wars Prequels fandom were influenced by Reddit Prequelmemes? Star Wars Prequels were always shat on by everyone from within or outside SW fandom but now there's great love for them and if you go to any Star Wars-related video you find endless meme references and quote...

Re: Boycotting DB related company - did you do it?
I think Planetnamek's point was not watching something out of lack of interest is not the same as boycotting/protesting. One's passive, whereas boycotting is active. If you want an example, I'm boycotting Disney's upcoming Mulan movie because the main actress supports police brutality on the Hong K...

Re: Boycotting DB related company - did you do it?
Still seems overkill. Come to think of it Shinobi-03, how much of Funimation's catalog besides DB are you able to see or get? Not sure if the heavy fanservice shows or niche titles like Yuri on Ice or Citrus would have a following outside certain markets. If we're talking "legally", none ...

Re: Boycotting DB related company - did you do it?
For me gag dubs works best with gag shows. I don't mind them modifying or adding to the script if it gets the point/joke across. However, I draw the line when they inject random American political references (Gamergate reference, patriarchal society demands and calling visual novel fans as misogynis...

Re: Boycotting DB related company - did you do it?
I think people overreacted big time to the High Guardian Spice thing. I fail to see what the big deal was there. The deal was this: Crunchyroll was supposed to be this way to legally support the anime industry by subscribing to their simulcast service for those who can't afford to purchase the 100s...

Re: Boycotting DB related company - did you do it?
I'm not down with cancel culture so I stay subscribed to Funimation. They have decent selection of shows there. At least you remember they have a library to choose from. These people act like their subscription for FUNimation's service means they were paying for one show instead of the entire libra...

Re: Is Supreme Kai Shin the worst character in the franchise?
I think Kaioshin was intended to be a joke from the beginning. Here we have this new mysterious character with a divine presence around him to make the lesser gods shiver in place, but he ends up completely ignorant of those lowly humans and totally outclassed in powers next to them. That's the joke.

Re: Kame dogi inconsistency
It’s an inconsistency. But I guess this one can be explained as “Krillin’s outfit was a 1 piece, while Goku’s was 2 for some strange reason” and it wouldn’t break any logic. I was considering that possibility, but I asked myself "Why would Muten Roshi bother making it like that instead of two ...
