Anybody's heart broken?
No dub.
Honestly, the way the scene plays out, you can only hear about 5 words of this song anyway. Dubbing it would have been a lot of effort for very little return.

Bleh, the Dragon Soul vocals are nail-bitingly off key in many spots.
YBCB less so.

Re: Kai Episode 69 (22 August 2010)
The way people are talking about Cell as if Freeza and Vegeta (and whoever) are his parents makes me giggle.
But then, I guess it's true.

Re: DragonBall Z Kai TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai) Edits!
How the hell are EITHER of the versions (Nicktoons or CW) going to edit around certain things that simply can't be edited around?
I'm thinking of Boo's puppy, in particular.
The sniper shoots his puppy, with a rifle, and it's critical to the plot.
Be very afraid...

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
My prediction: Kai will be back in November, since November is "rating sweeps" month.
I would be very surprised to see it back before early September at the earliest (to coincide with the new TV season), or to NOT see new episodes in November!

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
All good points about DBZ's latter season releases. I guess a lot of that stuff DID come out earlier than the broadcast. However, aside from a few isolated examples, DVD-before-TV is highly anomalous among TV shows in general. I understand that it's frustrating, but it's industry standard! I've been...

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
ARGH! Why are the releases done so idiotically?! That's right, "idiotically!" I didn't even know if that was a real word, but damn it, it's not underlined, so it must be! Back in the good old days, they would have the DVD release before the show aired. What happened to that? The good old ...

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
Assuming that Kai continues to air once a week in Japan, and twice a week in the US (which WON'T happen for any number of reasons), there will HAVE to be a break. If the current rate were to continue, the US broadcast would be caught up to the Japanese version at episode 99. Because I was procrastin...

Re: Is Saiyan Blood going to "work"?
How do they sound like men that have a homosexual attraction to other men? Or are you just a bigot, considering it's the first and only term that popped in your mind? Oh lord. Give me a break. Yeah I'm such a "bigot." I was using "gay" referentially. As in, "this is what a ...

Is Saiyan Blood going to "work"?
First of all, do we have any confirmation that (one) it's being dubbed at all, and (two) that Sabat himself will even do it? I have this uneasy feeling that it's going to fall on its face and come off really comical... But it could also be awesome. Honestly, Sabat might do it better than Horikawa (w...

Re: Voice Actor Takeshi Aono Hospitalized After Stroke
Well. As was said, the guy IS 74 years old. Yanami, at 81, is the one I'm most worried about hanging in there. It's one thing to lose an actor who plays a non-critical character without all that much screen time left, it's another to lose the narrator! Nozawa is 73, but I worry less about women, sin...

Re: Scenes in Kai you feel have been done better musically
It's very possible that my feelings are what they are mainly because Kai's score is new to me, whereas the Z score is so old and familiar and I've heard it so many times that I take it for granted. And the mono really doesn't allow the Z score to come to as life in the same way the Kai score is allo...

Re: Scenes in Kai you feel have been done better musically
Only a couple times have I felt that the Z score fit a scene better than the Kai score. Honestly, I prefer the Kai score in general. I love the Kikuchi score, but more as an old and dear friend. However, it is often too melodically simplistic/circular and almost childish. While it's quirky and uniqu...

Re: New Freeza Talkback
Watch what Sabat and Schemmel actually say (or maybe more appropriately, DON'T say) in the video.
YOU GUYS READ SO MUCH INTO THIS.
If they'd said nothing at all about Freeza's recasting you'd all be doing backflips of joy right now.

The new voice is better than the ladies, and is not itself another lady. That's all I wanted. It's also as far as I'm willing to say until I hear more. I just know it's better. Anything beyond that will be cherries on top. Y'all built yourselves up way too much for this! Come on, it was a bunch of P...

Re: Tanooki's DragonBall Z Kai TV Version Edits! *Updated Ep.12*
It may be rough, but does anyone else feel as I do that even though Nicktoons Kai is in many ways more censored than the Saban dub, it still feels a lot LESS censored? Maybe it's because the old dub had an awful script and a crap music score to go with it, but the editing is just bothering me a whol...

Re: Sabat & Schemmel Video Interview
What would be really neat is if they got just about caught up with the Japanese version, then switched to weekly airings, and we started getting new dub episodes within a month or two of the original airing.
Has an anime ever come close to that before?

Re: Sabat & Schemmel Video Interview
I wonder exactly how many episodes deep FUNimation has dubbed at this point. The TV season stop-point is anybody's guess. TV seasons don't make any sense anymore. Especially on cable. But I don't see how ANYTHING they decide to do isn't problematic... If they stop at the end of the Saiyan arc, that'...
