Re: DB30YEARS: Special DB 30th Anniversary Magazine

Was reading through this and on page 27 it says that viz had gone back on their promoise to release uncensored volumes. I thought they had been uncensored this whole time for quite a few years. What exactly is still censored?

Re: How powerful is Majin Yakon and Majin Pui Pui?

The one thing I don't get is that people seem to be making the assumption that the base forms of goku and vegeta are just as strong as they used to be, and aren't considering the possibility that their base forms at that point is as as strong as their super saiyan forms were previously. Or maybe I a...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

If you can color correct them without losing the Grain, then you're onto something! The guide in the first couple posts doesn't alter any grain. Several of us apply some sort of grain removal to our own tastes, but that varies from person to person (although I think all of us that have posted scree...

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?

This is pretty tough for me since I'm one of the weird outliers that prefers the faulconer ost, but I do have some clear favorites. A lot of what makes this hard is that there's a ton of tracks I love dearly that I just don't know the titles of, so most of the ones I list will be iconic since those ...

Re: How powerful is Majin Yakon and Majin Pui Pui?

I put Pui-Pui at Saiyan Arc Vegeta level, with Yakon being at 100% Freeza. That goes nicely with 10x gravity being a big deal for Pui-Pui, and Goku's base not being quite enough to deal with Yakon, but Goku and Gohan both fighting in base being able to do so. But if this was the case, why would the...

Re: Are Androids 19 and 20 stronger than Freeza?

I don't think so, at least not before absorbing energy, since we see piccolo having little trouble with #20/Gero, and I don't think it's feasible that piccolo got to final form or 100% freeza levels during training.

Or was gero already weakened by that point? Iforget.

Re: How strong is a nuclear bomb in the Dragon Ball universe

I'd wager that the actual blast itself would probably not affect them any worse then an equally sized ki attack, but the radiation would likely prove fatal to a variety of characters, it's been shown that no matter how powerful they get, they are still susceptible to magic and things like diseases, ...

Re: Budokai 3 or Infinite World

The main difference between infinite world and budokai 3 that I recall is that infiite world adds more GT characters to play as, but it removes the free flight/roam SP mode. I also remember infinite world having exceedingly brutal AI, even on lower difficulties. In general, I'd say it depends on wha...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion

I won't speak for you but I certainly wouldn't call that crisp or say that it kept the detail. No, you;d be in the right to say that. I was under the impression kai looked a lot better then that. In fact, every bit of footage of kai I have seen looks a lot better then that. This all has me thinking...

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!

Just got my hands on this. These are absolutely gorgeous. The color palette is just astounding, the detail is great, it's just so good. I will be very, very, very saddened if the rest of the series isn't released like this here. I very well may have to end up importing it or obtain it by other mean...

Re: So do some at Funi have regrets with how DBZ was handled

Haha, been saying that for years so I gotta agree with you 100%! I interviewed fans from Poland and Mexico pointing out the same thing to elaborate on my point. :P It's always what I said when people made a big deal about the dub's success in America while crediting Funimation for DBZ ever being a ...

Re: Why is Toei reanimating Sailor Moon but not DBZ?

So the TV version will probably be the refined versions of episodes with lots of shots redrawn. Hopefully, any Dragon Ball series (most likely, a Heroes series) will get the same treatment in the future: listening to the fans' complaints about shots being drawn weirdly during TV airing and redraw h...

It's nice to see a topic like this explaining how to do this sort of thing for people who are unfamiliar with it. Props to the OP.

This is something I thought about doing (color correcting my sets, not making a topic) for a while, perhaps this will be the thing to push me to do it.

So I finally was able to obtain some of the Blu Ray sets, gonna give my thoughts. As a forward, my views on what a good release should be is probably a lot different from most of you: i'm not a purist, I don't like film grain, for example: It's a defect that people have gotten accustomed too, nothin...

Does Kanzenshuu/ Did Daizenshuu EX get press assets from Namco-Bandai/Toei/Funimation for various video game/anime/manga stuff? I have a good amount of certain material archived, yes. Not really a bad crop but it can show how they avoid bad cropping by panning. Though for this scene, it makes it a little disorienting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc3sMudMw4k What exactly am I supposed to be looking at here? Not 100%, but from what I can tell, around 58 seconds in, the original...

Re: Various questions: Color Manga, Movie sets, Heros shorts

The company's own digital reader on their website (vizmanga.com/shonenjump.com) displays each page at roughly 480x715, but I'm not entirely sure if there's more data within there. The app isn't responsive design, so it just sticks at that size if you resize the window.. Oh wow, 480x715 is a lot sma...
