I would say Goku vs Piccolo Jr is the greatest battle. Goku vs Freeza was boring and overlong.

Goku was already likely super strong after 10 years of nothing but training. Uub was strong as he expected yet handled him in base.

Gero was responsible for a good portion of the series, probably more than freeza.
