Re: Should Boo arc be a separate anime series?

This is an interesting topic because, at the time, fans of the series actually DID think of it as a new series. IIRC based on news group postings, the Boo arc was advertised heavily before airing. And actually, on those news groups, there was a period of time from Great Saiyaman onward where it was ...

Re: Kai Episode 98 Canceled

Well played. In return I'm going to pull the "Imperfections are part of it's charm" card. Not only that, but it still couldn't fix the GOD AWFUL ART and inconsistent animation studios being cut back and forth between now in the span of a single episode instead of over the course of...

Re: DBZ Remastered Movies in 4:3 and better contrast !

Wow, the image quality on those pictures is fucking incredible.

How would someone obtain all of those various cels, with the correct backdrops, to scan in as a complete image? That doesn't make much sense to me-- sounds impossible.

Maybe these actually come directly from FUNimation themselves.

Re: Dragon Ball GT Eyecatchers

This is easily one of the greatest troll threads I've seen in recent memory.

What makes it so great is the fact that you all continue getting roped in with his purposeful and progressively more nonsensical gobbledygook.

I guess I just expected more from such a supposedly sharp group of people.

Two day shipping. I'm expecting it to be here by early next week, considering they billed me today.

Shit, I guess I'd better start watching set one.

You sold your Tournament Saga set for $9.99?

Dude, you got screwed. That set was going for well over 200 in the last few years.

Regardless of the season sets, I would have just held onto it for collection purposes. It is incredibly rare. I'll never let go of mine.

No exaggeration, I know literally ZERO people that currently share an even remote interest in anything Dragonball. I guess that's an odd thing to say, especially considering how large the franchise was, and continues to be. But it's true. I can't even mention the name Dragonball in any forum other t...

I'm sure all those muppets raging about the release on Amazon and such aren't helping the situation... For every crap review, counter it with a good one. Personally, I think it is our responsibility to inform the average consumer what is actually true about the Dragon Box. We wanted this so bad for...

Announcing a price drop change after the msrp was already known is worrying. If set one moved the units it needed to, I see no reason for funi to drop the price on future releases (while oddly still maintaining the previously announced msrp on set one). Will the 20 dollar price cut really push these...

Again, upscaling is only possible through a digital (hdmi) connection. Component cables won't work. Personally, I found a workaround to this. While my tv is a bit older and does not contain an hdmi connection, it DOES have a dvi input. Without getting into it, dvi and hdmi are essentially the same t...

Sorry, but if there is one thing i don't like is watching something with black bars. Then i feel stupid for buying such a big tv... Why are you bothering with the Dragonboxes then? You can get the season sets for a fraction of the price and you can watch it in anamorphic widescreen as opposed to ha...

The green crocodile kid from a filler episode of DB before the 22nd budokai. What was his name again...?

Yeah, I know it's not canon, but it seemed like a good choice to me because of how ridiculous he looked.

To be a little bit more specific, I am watching on a Sony CRT. This is an HDTV from 2003, so there is no hdmi support at all. I did check for an anti-image retention burn in setting on the tv to see if I could make the grey pillar boxes black, but it's a no-go. Guess I'm just screwed on this one, an...

Oh, wow. PS3? You have to change your Upscale settings to "Normal." You can find it in the A/V settings from that menu you can bring up with Triangle while playing a DVD. If the Upscale is "None" or "Full" it'll stretch. If it's "Normal" it'll fit your screen...

Yeah, except you're wrong about it displaying in 4:3 on a 16:9 tv. As stated, it by default stretches the image to fit the full screen... And for me personally, I have yet to find a way that allows me to view it with black pillar boxes.

Question about viewing the Dragon Box in the proper 4:3 format. First off, I am watching on a 16:9 HDTV (like most of you, I assume). This of course means that when I pop the Dragon Box into my PS3 and begin watching, the screen stretches the image to fit the full capacity, resulting in a slight def...
