" the very villains who murdered his father . This is probably an actual typo, they must have thought it read Goku instead. The battle rages through space Technically it does, no? The super warriors do end up having to fight Freeza's forces on places that aren't Earth. A bit of stretch but... ...

Sonic Lost World I won't get to play it early but I'm 100% sure Sonic Team has been working on this game to be a wonderful experience, but regarding DBZ it's been quite different for many years now. If Artdink released a demo they'd potentially gain new customers, but sticking to no demo then that'...

Re: Is Kai on Nicktoons becoming what DBZ was on Toonami?
Toonzai/Vortexx's airings of DBZKai scored 1.3 million viewers of all ages. Still less kids than at prime but A WHOLE LOT more than Nicktoons. Well that's understandable. Everybody can get a CW signal on broadcast, while Nicktoons is a premium cable channel. Toonzai probably could have hit Toonami ...

Re: Will You Be Buying The "Rock The Dragon" DVD Box Set?
I might. I have it on order, although I might cancel it later. There's justifications I can give, but then I think to myself, "Am I really about to buy the Saiyan and Namek sagas AGAIN?", or I think about what little nostalgia I have for it. But I suppose if I end up not wanting it, I can ...

Re: How many English releases will you own before you stop?
It's an old show - it does not really benefit much from HD. I wouldn't say that . The Level sets looked wonderful, if only they'd been complete. Which, by the way, is the only reason I'd ever shell out to get a release of Z again, since I have the Dragon Boxes (the most perfect DVDs we'll see). As ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa
Aw man, this a complete tease.
NC doesn't FEEL that far from South Florida, but at the same time I'd have to drive ~12 hours to get to Raleigh.
Knowing that the one and only Masako Nozawa is barely a half-day's drive away is just infuriating.

Re: How would you have run things with FUNi's limited resour
The musical score had little or nothing to do with the overwhelming success of DBZ in the 90s/2000s compared to "Kai" today. It had more to do with the marketing push, additional merchandising opportunities, timing (a newer product; at the end of the day, "Kai" is still the same...

If that's true, seeing as it's very easy to believe, could that be the reason why Viz has never translated aHujio wrote:So here's the theory -- Shueisha no longer has access to the original copies of the Daizenshuu.

Lol I know, myself and a buddy both ordered 3 and 2 respectively. They're 25cm PVC figures, not soft vinyl or anything. They're a pretty good size and sturdy too Oh, nice. I missed the HLJ order, though, but BBTS has it up for preorder. I've never used them before, and their shipping's not too bad,...

Re: What is the testament of your Dragon Ball fandom?
I own way too much merchandise, and like I'm sure most of you will understand, a lot if it is double dipped DVD sets. I think that that's enough of a showing; most of the people I know, when they find out I have the Saiyan saga in 3 different sets, they think I'm crazy, and I'm almost inclined to ag...

Re: What voices do you associate with the characters?
Goku alternates for me. It's mostly Nozawa, but when Kai came out and I watched the FUNi dub of that, I sometimes hear Sean Schemmel again.
Kuririn is Tanaka, all the time.
Gohan is always Nozawa.
Piccolo goes from Sabat most of the time to Furukawa the rest of the time.

Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
Japanese fans eat up shit like birthdays and blood types. I'm surprised they haven't done this already. Never heard that before (although I always wondered why we needed to know Ryu and co.’s blood types in the intro-of-sorts for Street Fighter II ). Why do they? I think it's a cultural thing, wher...

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
Its cheaper not to have all the pages of color, especially since there are a lot of color pages in Dragon Ball compared to other mangas. Of course, they will never admit that. But, if they release this version of the manga, they will have to include all the color pages obviously. That's the exact r...

Re: What's next for the TV series after the Dragon Boxes?
A big question is, down the line, were FUNi to release a DBox styled Dragon Box The Movies, would they tweak it to include this new 18th theatrical film. Assuming of course they get the rights to Battle of Gods and release it six times over via DVD, Blu-Ray, double feature, etc. first. I doubt it. ...

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
As much as I prefer the original color pages to this new coat of paint, I'd buy them if they came out in English.
Speaking of which, how do you guys see the chances of a Viz release? I'd say it's very unlikely, simply because they didn't even put all the colored pages in the Vizbigs.

Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
I hope they just keep birthdays limited to the years unless they do through research to get them perfectly accurate. How hard can it be to mess up? Like, were Goku's or Krillin's ages ever explicitly mentioned in the manga ever again after the 21st Budokai? Was Bulma's age ever explicitly stated ag...

I'd think, like somebody mentioned earlier in the thread, that it would be like a Kai-style vector recolored.hleV wrote:I wonder how well are they gonna re-draw the places which originally were colored in black (like Vegeta, pretty much most of the time).
