Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I think the scenes following Gohan vs. Broly were made without the intent of faithfully represent real strength implications. It was intentionally conceived as a light moment, so that in the end all the Saiyans would have a great time.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

How strong are we granting current SS3 Gotenks? Assuming he scales similarly to his Boo arc self, he shouldn't even reach God Goku yet. Are we willing to grant the kids some leeway and assume the fusion boost gets bigger as they become adults? Even assuming so, I'd still wager they're below current...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

The “turn into dust” version of the technique won’t work unless the target is immobilized or let the user lock on them. None is simply tanking that, like it’s not supposed to be tanked in the first place, much like Dabra’s saliva. Beerus had to grab Zamasu to not let him escape. In the anime, Goku e...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I also think it gotta be a miscoloring. The Base Saiyans’ aura is usually represented in a shade of golden yellow. This can be observed in various chapters, including flashbacks featuring Bardock. An interesting case is that Gohan possesses this same color aura in all of his forms, with the exceptio...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

It’s important to note that Toriyama's involvement in crafting the dialogue for the Broly movie and his contributions to the original draft and additional elements of the Tournament of Power arc demonstrate his direct influence on the storytelling, as his vision shapes the character interactions and...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

While it's true that Toriyama didn't explicitly state that Broly is stronger than Beerus, it's also important to consider the context and narrative implications of Goku's perspective. While Goku may not have witnessed Beerus' full power, and that’s debatable, it doesn't necessarily mean he's complet...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

While plans may have evolved since 2018, dismissing the significance of the Broly movie dialogue overlooks its narrative impact within the Dragon Ball Super series. Regarding Broly's strength compared to Beerus, whether Goku saw Beerus in full action against other Gods of Destruction is speculative,...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

With all due respect to Beerus, this notion isn’t new. Toei and Toyotaro have already worked with the idea that Beerus was surpassed in ToP arc. And Toriyama as well in the first Super movie, by providing the dialogue implying so. You have to go out of your way to ignore dialogue and other implicati...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

That’s the whole point. The conflict being his own personal reasons for not using his full power, the solution being control. Until he figures out how to better use his power, he won’t be considered stronger than Goku, Beerus or any of the foes that came into play after he went berserk.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

There lies the problem. You claimed last post Broly was stronger than Beerus now you are saying it was implied. You corrected yourself. Not seeing the issue here. The implication hasn’t changed: the Broly from the movie is probably stronger than Beerus. It’s not wrong to make such a claim. I just f...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Not to mention the rude approach to any disagreement: “Wrong as usual”, “Do you know what this word means?”, “these are the facts”, “Headcanon…”. :| This doesn’t belong here, nor do we have time for that. By the way, this is what Goku said: "He's a Saiyan like me, but he's probably even stronge...

Gohan was the “controlled berserker”. Broly was more like Gohan when he is not in that “controlled berserker” level.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Now Broly has controlled his power making him stronger but still definitely below Freeza. Who in turn is below Lord Beerus who has always been above Broly. These are just canon facts. This is not accurate. Broly is now able to use the Super Saiyan form, but it is noted by Beerus he can’t control hi...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Chapter 103 Broly compared to Broly (vs Blue Gogeta).....which one is supposed to be stronger? I was under the impression that Broly didn't access his "Beserk" level of strength vs Gohan, therefor he is still way stronger than what chapter 103 showed......or am I wrong? Agreed. That’s pre...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I disagree about Gohan being ahead of Goku mostly because, while Gohan has been practicing with his new form, Goku has a much better control over Ultra Instinct. So, the thrust of the chapter for me is that Gohan has more power and speed, but Goku has more experience and control over his skills, whi...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

But I've also come to doubt how i viewed Broly at his max in the broly arc. If whis is correct in that broly has had "some growth" until now, then how strong was Broly in the manga at his peak against SSB Gogeta? I had him at the bottom of the barrel of Hakaishin strength, on par with UI ...

Re: Gotenks(Post-Rosat)>>Goku and Vegeta

Anyway I don't think it even needs to be mentioned that Gohan is rusty since he's at his weakest a while after, but the boys should be as strong as aways. The manga just confirmed they're very into training. The only thing that ever suggests the boys are rusty is the Yo! Son Goku OVA. Even the mang...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Toriyama’s comment is only concerned about who is the character he finds the most cool. The “strongest” part of the line is a editor’s note with inner thoughts about Toriyama’s answer to the question. He does that in other instances, like with Kame Sen’nin.

Re: Gotenks(Post-Rosat)>>Goku and Vegeta

We don't even see ss3 gotenks and gohans fight with beerus in the manga. In the anime and movie, which I don't care about, they've already slacked, gohans on his way down to his rof power and don't seem to be ultimate, and are not using ss3. Actually, there is nothing in the movie, nor in its anime...
