Re: Is it true that there were people making money off the Japanese Broadcast Audio?

I agree that FUNimation's cancelled 2011 "level" Blu-rays were of superior quality to anything available in Japan video-wise, but it was an entirely different situation by that point. Prior to the Dragonboxes, none of the series proper had ever received home release in Japan in any form, making the...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 30th Anniversary Wishes

I wish for the cancelation of FUNimation's announced BD set... That'd be a great thing.

Re: It’s time for fans to come together and remaster the series properly.

Ever since my SRTO hit, I’ve entertained the thought of investing $500,000+ of my personally money into remastering the entire series. I would like to hire a company or group of people to work on this under strict supervision. We need to preserve this series in the best possible quality. It’s time ...

Re: DragonBall Super: Broly - List of countries & other related info

With the news of the new Argentinian dub, can we get a tally of how many languages/dialects the movie has been dubbed into at this point? The movie exists (so far) in Japanese, English, French, Italian, Latin American Spanish, Castilian Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Brazilian Portuguese, Portugal Portu...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Cancelation attempt : https://twitter.com/clutch1ns/status/1119998547955474432?s=20 Has anyone initiated the mass cancellation group? I only pre ordered because I was worried they would stop at 3000 and not make the rest available until later. They really fucked up this "hardcore fans" release. And...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

When a large majority are probably scalpers or collectors who just want a box on their shelf, I can't see it working. There comes a point where we have to accept that we have done all we can. And when I say all we can, I mean it. Sending out mass hashtags "or something like that" may give the illus...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

How exactly do you propose to do that? Post more Twitter posts? Have people make more YouTube videos? Go to the local news station and ask them to broadcast the message? I honestly don't think there is much else anyone can do at this point. Even if it somehow did work, it would just reach 3000 agai...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

That's just you who has given up. It's just the reality of the situation. The fans who ordered the 30th Blu-ray release are the same ones who bought the Orange Bricks and the Season Blu-rays. Besides, FUNimation would never sell a high quality product for only $350. At least $500 or more. Yeah, the...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I had a really long post typed out but in the end I've decided just to ask a question: If the preorders for this set failed, would FUNimation actually see the complaints, go back to do it right, and try again? Or would they take it to mean nobody actually wants the series in 4:3, look what we tried...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

So? If the total can be pushed back to under 3000, it's not getting produced. I don't see a reason to not try. So, as I said a lot of them are hardcore but not that hardcore and they're happy with what they saw on the trailers. Some even say "amazing". "Hardcore" fans won, hardcore fans lost. That'...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

So it seems like it is indeed possible to cancel the pre orders of this set. And there's not that many people over the limit Funimation put up who have ordered the set. How about the starting a campaign to get people to cancel their pre orders? That might push it so far back that this doesn't get r...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I can't sift through 100 pages so I'm hoping I can get a paraphrase. I looked at the set last night and it looks amazing from what I can see? The entire DBZ series on Blu Ray in one single set uncropped. What is the issue? I see someone said it's the same quality as the Blu-Ray release from a few y...

But didn't Funimation have a video on their site hosted at elsewhere than YouTube that looks the same?
I can't visit their pages so I wouldn't know.

Vpns exist as apps in browsers.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

It seems like there's a myth here that YouTube compresses the grain too much or even in its entirety but that's not true. This is from YouTube: https://i.postimg.cc/5t6Qj1Kk/Level-Set-You-Tube.png Heavily disagree. I've uploaded some PS1 footage to YouTube with the system's original dithering, and ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

You know what FUNi should do? And feel free to send this on to them because I feel like I, a non-American who can't even play Region A BDs, am not the right person to tell them so... Do a super-quick, bare-bones release of their raw film scans, cropped no more than what's necessary to avoid the dam...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I don't think a full scale level sets quality restoration is feasible given the low cost of the set ($350 for 291 episodes is pretty damn inexpensive) but if we can convince Funi to use the raw film scans or a slightly cropped version of them just to eliminate the film edges, that would be the best...
