Re: Buu Saga Kai

Dragon Ball GT also had seemingly random ending songs, and all of them were dubbed by Funimation. They even went out of their way to restore the animations for Endings 2-4. So, I think they probably will do them. Then again, I'm also curious about this FLOW situation.

Re: Annoying things people say about DB/Z (No repetitions)

The Dragon Box is simply catering to a different part of the fanbase than the ones who would actually be interested in the Johnson and Faulconer scores. It's meant for fans of the original, and the English dub itself is only considered secondary on those sets.

Re: Annoying things people say about DB/Z (No repetitions)

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but all these people who claim Dragon Ball Z Kai is an edited kidified version of the original just irritate me. It's like they don't know that there are uncut DVDs and THAT THE ORIGINAL DBZ WAS EDITED ON TV, TOO. Usually from the same group we get people sa...

I can imagine him smelling like fish during those three years of training for the Androids.
(Kind of weird that he was eating those despite not having too. Maybe that's his way of trolling Chi-Chi)

Re: Would you enjoy an official dub done by Team Four Star?

That's one thing that's always bugged me about people criticizing the dub just because the voices sound different from the original. I see this with other series, too. (I know many people hate the dub for other reasons, too, but I don't want to go into that here). They are actors, not imitators.

Now that'd be an interesting one to play. :D

But anyway, I prefer the Dragon Ball spacing. That's what it says when the series title is shown in all the intros.

I'd either go: All English (with US Music where applicable) All English With JP Music All Japanese Dragon Ball -All 153 Episodes Remastered (5 Season Sets in 4:3) -All 4 Movies Remastered (Movie Pack in 4:3) Dragon Ball Z -All 291 Episodes Remastered (9 Season Sets in 16:9) -Both Specials Remastered...

Re: My opinion of Pre-Z Dragon Ball? Let us find out, now!!

I don't remember entirely, but I'm pretty sure the dub also had Oolong "narrating" the explanation instead. Honestly, I agree that this is one of the things that would potentially bother me about the original. About how much does this happen? I haven't seen it in Japanese yet, but definitely will so...

It'll probably be out on Holo-Disc or whatever they do after Blu-Ray in the next 5 years.

Re: My opinion of Pre-Z Dragon Ball? Let us find out, now!!

Goku is presented as a naive boy who has never been anywhere near civilization before. Growing up in nature, he simply has different values. In Japan, I assume they're able to except that on TV. I doesn't mean they go around doing that. You know, on a side note, the lower classes in Sweden really DO...

Re: My opinion of Pre-Z Dragon Ball? Let us find out, now!!

I don't understand how that kind of humor can be so off-putting to some people. I mean, I'm fairly conservative. I'm Swedish, but I grew up in the US and have strict US values (it's to the point that most people here can't even tell I'm not 100% American). However, I do still recognize the value of ...

Re: List of the things you LIKE&DISLIKE about Dub&Sub

Do I think that most English dubs in general have gone too far? Yes. I'm not sure where you get this idea that the majority of English dubs are a butchery of the original product. Almost every dub produced in the last decade is, at the very least, accurate. The acting and casting may be questionabl...

Re: List of the things you LIKE&DISLIKE about Dub&Sub

Hmm, these are some good points. One must ask "what is thy purpose, dub?". Well, it is to make something watchable to those who don't understand the language of origin. Do I think that most English dubs in general have gone too far? Yes. Do I hate them for that? No, not really. Well, it depends. I'm...

Re: List of the things you LIKE&DISLIKE about Dub&Sub

I think some people criticize the dub a bit too harshly, when it's probably one of the better dubs out there. One of the biggest, most important things for me is the fact that it's ACTUALLY UNCUT. Seriously, there are so many other anime that don't have that privilege. Not only that, but the origina...

Re: Would you enjoy an official dub done by Team Four Star?

It would at least make Guru a lot more memorable character  I think Guru is a character who would have to be recast, because the take on the character is the complete opposite of the original in every respect. Others could work pretty well, like Goku and Gohan. Also, characters like the Ginyu ...

Re: List of the things you LIKE&DISLIKE about Dub&Sub

The US music is optional, so it's not entirely fair to judge the dub with it anymore. Plus, TEAM Faulconer only did Episodes 68-291 of Dragon Ball Z. Nathan Johnson did 1-67 and Mark Menza did Dragon Ball GT. The original Dragon Ball doesn't have a US score. Even though I have yet to see it subbed (...

Ok, I have no idea how this works, being "anti" like Piccolo, but how can people be attracted to fictional animated characters......? The mind boggles at the thought.... The same way people can have crushes on celebrities or (seemingly) unobtainable individuals. I think that there's a lot more to w...

Re: What are the odds of Dragon Ball airing on nicktoons?

Maybe they thought about it, but they thought the show would be too old for kids to enjoy. The show came out nearly 30 years ago and I guess that might be reason why Funi never bother dubbing the original Dr. Slump back in the early 2000's. I don't think it's the age that matters, other channels li...
