Re: Why were African Americans represented so poorly in DBZ

What do you mean "African Americans?" Dragon Ball doesn't even take place in America.

Re: Is Vegetto the Strongest of Any Anime Characters?

Ugh, I really don't get these kind of debates. Why do people love debating what fictional characters can beat other fictional characters so much? Anyway, if you take GT into account then Baby would probably be more powerful than Vegetto.

Re: Why the Broly hate?

Interestingly, the script for the Funimation dub of movie 8 was very accurate to the Japanese version.

Re: Why the Broly hate?

If you ask me, Broly is basically the Dragon Ball equivalent of Venom. He doesn't have much in the way of personality, but a lot of fans love him because he looks cool and he came off as a badass in his original appearance. I think Broly was a decent character in movie 8, but the latter two movies ...

Re: Opinions on the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball

Doc Morgan does a good job as the narrator, but he can sound a little flat at times. I think Brice Armstrong sounded more lively and more memorable in the role honestly, plus I felt that his voice fit the adventure aspect of the series better.

Re: Opinions on the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball

Here are a few things I found baffling B, the Pilaf arc isn't the best representation of that dub. They just basically reused old scripts, the rest tends to be better. I don't get the reaction to Chris Sabat's Yamucha. He's slightly heightening his normal voice. He ain't an offender. Huber's only o...

Re: Opinions on the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball

What are your thoughts on Funimation's dub of the original Dragon Ball anime? I think it was a pretty good dub overall. It wasn't quite as accurate as the Kai dub, but it was still reasonably accurate overall, and although the voice acting wasn't really anything ground breaking, most of them did a ...

The worst Dragon Ball game that I played would probably be the first Legacy of Goku game. Sagas would probably be a close second.

Re: Do you think Dragon Ball had too much perv moments ?

I certainly could have done without the "Where are your balls Bulma" and pafu pafu scenes. Also, I can't say I'm very fond of any of the child nudity either. The pafu pafu, again, I can understand, but why the other two? The former is hilariously innocent. The latter... well, as I said before, what...

Tasmanian Vegeta? I have literally never heard that one before. Anyway, Brian Drummond was terrible as Vegeta in my opinion. He made Vegeta sound like some sniveling, imp like villain, which does not fit the character in the slightest.

Honestly, if TFS does do the Buu saga, the main thing I would be looking forward to would be seeing Bulma and Popo getting eaten.

Re: Has TFS damaged the reputation of the franchise in the U

Considering how the Buu saga already had a pretty comedic tone, I don't think doing a parody of it would really work out all that well.

Re: Funimation Milking Dragon Ball Z

Yes, but what's wrong with trying to get as much out of the property as possible? As long as they don't cannibalize themselves, it's all good, but that's something FUNi has to worry about, not us. Does anyone know when Barry Watson left? I'm guessing around 2000. Much later than that actually. He l...

Re: Would you be more forgiving towards the dub if....

To be fair, the whole "mercy towards Vegeta" thing does actually sort of tie in to Goku's attitude in the Freeza saga. I'm not saying it was right for them to change the dialogue during that scene, but I don't necessarily think that it was out of character for Goku.

Re: Would you be more forgiving towards the dub if....

The Z dub did improve as time went on and I honestly think that the only point where it was truly terrible was during season 3 through the Garlic Jr saga. The Kai dub is still the much better dub overall, but I wouldn't say that the Z dub is godawful. The dub was pretty bad in season 1 and 2. I wou...
