Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

So yeah, the dubbed Bulma and Zuno scenes are a bit of an unfortunate watch with the context we have now. Episode 31 : https://streamable.com/dpt6f Bulma pseudo-flirting with Jaco, his comment about her age and the resulting punch are cut. Vegeta's warning about "funny business" becomes "flirting"....

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

Episode 28-30 : https://streamable.com/9p30d Visually uncut. You'd think that would give me less to talk about. 28/29's openings swap Freeza with Universe 6, introducing opening animation early again. The music gets louder at the very end for no reason and a brief moment from 28 is accidentally pla...

Re: Missing Creditless Openings and Endings

It's worth noting that Funimation apparently doesn't have a genuine creditless version of GT ending 4; they evidently removed the credits themselves and did a poor job of reconstructing the animation in the process: https://youtu.be/wXHYEPiWgxE.

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

And we've reached the ones I haven't watched dubbed before. Episode 26 : https://streamable.com/77nju Episode 27 : https://streamable.com/fgvr1 Bonus round! Daman Mills as Freeza: https://streamable.com/4u7t0 Chris Ayers and Daman Mills are both credited in 26/27, but I could only hear alternate lin...

Re: Possible details on Selecta Vision's Dragon Ball (1986-1989) bluray release

The 4:3 Shenron error in Path to Power is worse IMO. Shame I don't have a good pic of it off hand. Here's both Funi releases (2011 then 2003 discs). I had to resort to PowerDVD when VLC refused to let me navigate through the main feature of the 2003 DVD. https://imgur.com/lkfXm77.png https://imgur....

The plot thickens: Edited dub: https://imgur.com/BhDB5Dy.png Blu-ray: https://imgur.com/URSTWmW.png Nah, they must have just re-worded their credits between editing each version. They also stopped the stylisation of FUN imation. I'm pretty sure One Piece 's credits go through similar changes to how ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

I think that "non-verbal noise" was actually Vegeta saying "Dammit" quietly. Listening again, it's much more obvious once I know which words to expect. Too late to edit the original post. From now on, these videos won't contain the uncut lines if they're relatively obvious from context. Episode 24 ...

Re: Possible details on Selecta Vision's Dragon Ball (1986-1989) bluray release

It's especially silly when you consider that, as cropping makes the framing tighter, it works against the larger screens we have now. If anything, you would want wider framing because it takes up more of your vision.

8 and 9 artwork from Anime-on-line:
Seems a shame to remove Jiren when he's the main villain.

I wonder how they will release the next collectors set. As a massive 79 episode set containing sets 5 - 10 or Collection 2 with 52 episodes with a small 27 episode Part 3.
Do you mean the Madman sets? 'Collection 2' comes out in October, and only bundles parts 5-8.

Re: FYE Announces Dragon Ball Z Orange Brick "Collector's" Box Set

"Step into the Grand Tour" plays during the TV Special's ending on the American score track for whatever reason. AFAIK every 'English with Japanese score' option outside of the Dragon Boxes uses an instrumental rock track instead of Cha-La Head Cha-La . The "remastered" movies, Levels and Microsoft ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

"What's about to happen isn't gonna be kid-friendly" - Son Goku. Well then. Episode 21 : https://streamable.com/dexv1 Lots of "defeat" and "attack" as euphemisms for death. Even a reference to "the next world" is changed. Lots of small cuts to Tagoma's attack on Gohan to remove all clear shots of th...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

Episode 11 was Pop's 13th most watched programme of the week with 119,100 viewers. Episode 19 : https://streamable.com/vehn2 New opening with this episode, using the end shot from uncut episode 25's opening. The fireworks lines is changed, I guess to remove the reference to doing this multiple times...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

None of episodes 6-10 were in Pop's top 15 programmes this time. Episode 16 : https://streamable.com/u7uut The most suggestive part of old Kaioshin watching the beetled is gone, kinda killing the joke. Naked Goku/Krillin and some of Goku's attacks on Beerus are cut from Krillin's memory montage. Kri...

Re: Vic Mignogna

Don't forget their demands for Tiffany Vollmer to replace Rial as Bulma. (Didn't she move?) That was such an obvious bit of bad-faith arguing on their part. Even ignoring that Vollmer has apparently retired from voice work, putting the emphasis on someone they preferred in the role was completely i...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

For some reason 14 and 15's ending theme were in Japanese, and 14 had 'Mr. Satan' in the credits. With 15, Pop also aired the next episode preview and Toei/Funimation logos for the first time. Wierd. Episode 13 : https://streamable.com/5gjsf Episode 14 : https://streamable.com/fbvzg A lot of small c...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

I see that the weekend repeats are gone from the schedule. Hopefully this doesn't mean that they underperformed, although it was a weird choice to schedule repeats that would drift further and further behind anyway. Episode 11 : https://streamable.com/qbeqj 78 seconds of footage cut from Goku and Be...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

Each time I see these edits I feel somewhat sad...until I remember just how major the exposure Pop is giving. BARB's released the 7-day ratings for the first week; the first two episodes were 6th and 3rd, with 126,800 and 132,700 viewers respectivley, and episode 5 was 11th with 112,000. 3 & 4 were...
