Re: Did Goku get lucky with the Red Ribbon Raid?
I don't think he did. Though Tao's grenade is really odd as I'd think a kamehameha has more destructive capabilities than a simple grenade, and Tao Pai Pai shrugged that off. It's certainly not like a real world grenade for one thing. The fact that it had small area of effect shouldn't be an issue ...

Re: Did Goku get lucky with the Red Ribbon Raid?
Also how would missiles affect Goku at this point. We know General Whites special gun did some damage. Though it was after Goku did a lot of fighting. Also Goku had powered up now so they probably won't hurt as much. Though I think regular guns may still sting him at least. Bullets don't seem to do...

Re: Piccolo Becoming SSJ-Level Pre-Kami
He didn't get nearly that much power from training after rejoining with Kami. There's no numerical basis for a comparison by that point. All we know is that his training after Kami made him super strong but not as strong as Goku, Gohan, and Cell who were super super super super strong. We don't kno...

Re: Piccolo Becoming SSJ-Level Pre-Kami
2. Piccolo gained a megasuperhyperwombocombopowerup but Goku and Gohan did not, despite being his training partners and being...well, Goku and Gohan. Piccolo had just recently fused before that training. He was basically a new being already. The easy out is that fusion factors in the potential for ...

Re: Beerus' relationship with Freeza
Freeza was pissed off that a "mere monkey" could be stronger than him. Maybe the idea of an actual God being stronger is much more palatable to him.

Re: Piccolo Becoming SSJ-Level Pre-Kami
There's plenty of room here for Piccolo to be stronger than Android 19 and 20 and yet still weaker than a healthy original SS. The range is basically 3,000,000 to 150,000,000. Has to be higher than the first, but should be lower than the second. Here's some random numbers that would fit (among many ...

Re: Top speed of the greatest warriors in the series?
You can't ask real world physics based questions or base how fast they are off subtle real world physics. The physics (when consistent, outside of obvious gag stuff) are based off Toriyama "common sense". When Toriyama specifically addresses stuff like km and minutes, then that is bringing a real wo...

A war would probably give some of the weaker characters something to do, at least.

Re: If you salted a Namekian, would they shrivel up?
Salt kills slugs and snails due to osmosis; the water in their bodies is drawn out and they dehydrate to death. Namekians would suffer the same fate if the water inside them can pass out of their skin, but apart from going by the puns, their skin seems more similar to a humans than a slugs or snails...

Re: Beerus claims that base Goku in BoG couldn't beat Freeza
I wonder if SS didn't feel so natural and easy by that point that he couldn't have just become SS for a single KO punch (against Piccolo and/or 18) that none of the regular humans of the audience would see.

Re: Toriyama and the SSJ multiplier
Now, the problems with this theory: the biggest is that Goku would then essentially be able to get rid of Freeza himself right there. That'd cut the Freeza arc in half, and not really give Freeza any chance to show off his strength outside of curb-stomping Nail. Plus, Vegeta would still be a loose ...

Re: Beerus claims that base Goku in BoG couldn't beat Freeza
None of them are realistic, but most series which can effectively convey drama are internally consistent to the author's idea of "physics", and not some real world formulation with simulators and calculations. It goes more on a common sense basis and progression. For DC or Marvel comics, it's a bit ...

Re: Beerus claims that base Goku in BoG couldn't beat Freeza
Isn't it the Buu Saga that really messes it all up for thinking base is weaker than Freeza? All that confusing stuff about how formidable Supreme Kai thinks Babidi's fighters are, the Piccolo things, and Kibito being shown to be pathetic compared to base Gohan. Maybe Kai is just a panicky wuss, Vege...

Re: Toriyama and the SSJ multiplier
There's something else as well. In the ending pages of Chapter 270, we read this: GOKU: "Now I can even take Kaioken 10!" *next page* NARRATOR: "Goku doesn't know... that he now has the potential to become a Super Saiayan." I don't know what translation you're using, but it's a bit off. In Japanese...

Toriyama and the SSJ multiplier
Hello! I'd like to present a pseudo-theory on the whole "SS is 10/50 times!" thing. Sort of a theory... bear with me. It's a guesstimate based on... stuff. (This is out of universe stuff, right, because it deals with what Toriyama intended as a writer, and not internal justifications as if th...
