Re: Unpopular DB opinions

Chris Sabat's Vegeta has improved so much since the old dub. As someone who most recently watched Kai and Super dubbed, I went back to DBZ's dub after a long time watching random Cell saga episodes...and man...it sounds so off. And this was AFTER he largely stopped trying to imitate Brian's Vegeta ...

Re: TOEI doesn't understand Akira Toriyama's humour

The Boo saga as a whole is a dark comedy, and it's baffling a lot of of people don't get that particularly in the west. It's probably why you see so many western fans say they didn't like the Boo arc or wanted the series to end in Cell, the whole Boo saga was a hilarious dark comedy that was almost ...

Re: Which Bulma do you prefer?

For some reason Bulma gives me the impression that this is what Toriyama thought a western American woman looked and acted like.

I'm hoping the anime salvages this arc. Keep the better parts, get rid of everything else.

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 47 - DBZ episode 53-57 (CURRENT WEEK)

The realization that Vegeta takes out every single one of Freeza's forces (Cui, Dodoria, Zarbon, the entire Ginyu Force (even if Goku knocked out two of them before he got the kill), and even Ginyu if you count Super, is pretty funny.

It's kinda sad future Yajirobe survived the attack of the Androids only to get killed off by Zamasu about a decade later.

Re: What is the general consensus of the "Moro saga"?

Most people don't know it exists, so there never will be a consensus until it gets an anime adaption.

Most people don't read the Super manga, certainly not casual fans who never visit a Dragonball forum.

Holy crap the third image of GT Bulma on the bottom left is so scary. That sinister grinning face of hers there is 31 flavors of nightmare fuel.
She was possessed by Baby and was a Tuffle slave in that shot. Scary.

I hope they retire Goku and Vegeta to the bahamas and focus on the "next generation" with Trunks, Goten, Uub and Pan being the new heroes with Gohan being their mentor.

If it lets Trunks and Goten finally fight again, then I hope so. They're obviously not going to have them do anything until they're adults.

Should the Super manga and anime divert into completely different stories now?

So we've already technically seen this since the manga version of the Zamasu/Goku Black arc and Tournament of Power were vastly different from the anime, even if the overall story and the climax's were basically the same. Much like western superhero comics are different than the cartoons or live-act...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.

I do wonder how much Toriyama had a hand in this one, because aside from the beginning and the climax, I don't think everything else came from him. I honestly don't think Toriyama would ever have Yamcha or Chaiotzu back in the action again either for that matter. If this arc does get an anime adapti...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.

I think it's time to admit that this thread has run its course. If the anime ever adapts the Moro arc, it hasn't run its course until we see what's different between the anime and manga version. Judging by the Zamasu arc and the TOP, the anime Moro arc will probably have a completely different midd...

While the original narrative has a fitting ending if the whole series ended with the Namek arc, every saga after gives something different and new to the franchise they feel like great continuation.

There was a lot of that in Super. Gohan's desire to find a power above Blue as an earthling. Freeza's "plan" to overthrow Zeno. The Namakian book of legends. That angel acting strange when her universe was erased. Hit's great assassin powers the tournament rules prevented us from seeing. Super is b...

Re: The auto correct we never asked for, but totally deserve

Nobody is really going to care that he's called Korin instead of Karin. In english, Karin sounds too feminine a name so I can see why they changed it. I guess Trunks should be Torankasu and we should use Blooma and Kaio too. But it doesn't matter. Bra is also still called Bulla in the Super dub. The...

Re: So is Vegeta the new Piccolo?

It's times like this you think people have forgotten Piccolo's only wins for the entire span of DBZ was against Radditz where he needed Goku to hold him back, and a single Saibaman. Piccolo never won a single fight from the time Vegeta/Nappa arrived till DBZ ended. Unless you count chopping Babidi i...

Yamcha, Tien , and Chiaotzu being teleported only happened in the anime. So that was Toei fucking up yet again.
Same happens when anyone is revived, they're back to the spot they died or their bodies were left in.
