Re: Which games are the most "shovelware?"

The entire PS3/360 era is the shovelware of Dragonball games. After the franchise had a revival during the PS2/Gamecube/XBox era in the early 2000's due to the franchises popularity in the west, it obviously dropped off after that since the dubs were done and the whole PS3/360 era from about 2007-20...

Re: Kai version of filler arcs

The Otherworld tournament is only 5 episodes long, I'm not really sure what you can cut but you can probably whittle it down to a 3-4 parter. Most filler skipped in Kai were the training episodes in the Saiyan saga, the training eps on Goku's spaceship, "Fake Namek," the Bulma eps, some of the Cell ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Didn't Grand Kai get at least a single panel/picture similar to Bardock in the original manga? I vaguely remember seeing the Grand Kai in manga form at some point, but I haven't read the manga in a long time. Also who was the green Kai looking character with the U6 Kai in the Universe 6 tournament? ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

https://i.imgur.com/icv1Ucn.png I wish Grand Kai appeared, this was the perfect time to canonize him. Seeing how incompetent Shin is, it would be nice to have someone wise in charge of the good deities. Unless I'm mistaken, I'm pretty sure Grand Kai IS canon in the original manga. They don't show h...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.

My only point is that Zeno wiping them out in any version was bad I liked it because it showed how dangerous and unpredictable Zeno can be. Goku can't just summon him any time he gets in trouble because his solution might be to just erase the entire universe. I personally don't like Zeno much as a ...

If Dragonball gets a canon permanent ending again, will it be better than GT's ending?

So since Dragonball is in some sort of continuous state at the moment despite Super's "hiatus," do you think when Toriyama calls it quits for good again, do you think a theoretically future final episode ending will surpass GT's final episode? I very much like the idea of the Dragonballs going away ...

Radditz and Nappa were doomed to die. Cui could have theoretically survived the Namek arc if he wasn't stupid enough to challenge Vegeta.

Re: Do you miss the Super anime?

The anime has some good character moments and maybe 20 or so episodes I'd revisit but as a whole the series is simply... not good. It's certainly far below the quality a series as long standing as DB should have and that's really a shame. It's the best post-Boo continuation we'll ever get (or since...

Re: Apparently Ox King has a power level of 900?!

I'm more concerned with the video saying he thinks the original Dragonball will be rebooted. Unless it's a "Kai" version of the original Dragonball, which admittedly would have little interest in the fandom I imagine, thinking the original Dragonball could be re-animated over new Super episodes is k...

Re: So is Vegeta the new Piccolo?

In terms of the TOP I'd say Goku and Vegeta were the best treated, then a mix of Freeza/17 and Gohan, then 18, Piccolo, Roshi, Krillin and Tenshinhan. They all got their moments except Tenshinhan really, although Krillin could have lasted longer.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

The only thing I can think of is anime that overtook the manga like the 2003 Full Metal Alchemist. Since the anime was caught up to the manga they just went on to do their own original story and made a full series out of it while the original manga went in a different direction. Then of course years...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

If the Super anime doesn't come back till 2022 (or possibly never at this point?), then movies are pretty much the way to go. If the manga also continues to do new stories after Moro continually, it'll be very strange to see all future arcs to never get an animated adaptions. At this point the manga...

Re: Do you miss the Super anime?

Yeah, I do think they should have went with someone stronger over Roshi, but the anime writers at least justified his inclusion. He took out more fighters than Krillin or Tenshinhan did, and we saw him win using tactics back to the original Dragonball rather than using brute force since he was obvio...

Re: The Super Re-Read

So I re-read the TOP in the manga to see why I disliked it so much compared to the anime version, and now I remember, here's some random thoughts not necessarily in order: - The exhibition round was better in the anime. We got to see Universe 9 introduced, Boo had a fight, Gohan had a fight, and Gok...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Does anyone know why the Dragonballs only granted 1 wish again? I remember this being a problem in Movies 14-15 too, but the first one had the excuse of Shrenon being scared of Beerus so him retreating made sense. Then Movie 15 had Pilaf/Mai wish for money as their second wish if I recall. This one ...

Well in that case sure, but for those of us who liked that climax, it fits far better with the anime version.

Re: Do you miss the Super anime?

The sequence of Goku/Gohan's simultaneous kamehameha wiping out the last three Universe 2 love fighters and the two U6 Namekians is one of my favorite anime moments, let alone all those scenes with 17 and 18 protecting Goku and acting like his bodyguard. This stuff isn't in the manga, and the anime ...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.

Doesn't Zeno immediately wipe them out shortly after cloning themselves? It's just not the same impact. In the anime one of the main characters even shoots an energy beam into the sky when Zamasu takes it over and it just blows right through it. In the anime it felt like the stakes were far beyond a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I know it's probably too much to ask, but if they do go there it would be nice if Gohan and Trunks/Goten go with them, just to have all the U7 Saiyans visit the U6 planet. But knowing the writers it'll just be Goku/Vegeta again most likely...unfortunately.

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.

I don't understand why people like Fused Zamasu splitting into multiple copies of himself in the manga climax. Not only is it something we've seen before (Cooler movie), but it's also kinda boring? In the anime it felt like Zamasu became this omnipotent energy being taking over the planet itself, th...
