It was obvious Vegeta stood no chance against Jiren after he could no longer go Super Saiyan. Yet he said "This form is more than enough for you!" And charged him anyway. What's he basing that on? You are not. Goku, 17, Trunks' and Gohan's powerups are breaches in continuity that show no regard for anything resembling coherent or rational writing. This turns Super into an anything goes setting, where the stakes become meaningless, the tension non existent, and the struggle petty.
