Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

The last movie, despite having been announced at Jump Festa, only got a teaser trailer on the 20th of March. I think around the end of March and April we might get an announcement and teaser trailer if the movie is to be released this year - and I wouldn’t rule out this possibility, as it would be ...

When is the likeliest time we'll see any more news about the movie? The last movie, despite having been announced at Jump Festa, only got a teaser trailer on the 20th of March. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

If they really are waiting for Toyotaro to get far enough then will they put the show in filler hell like Boruto or go seasonal? I think once the Moro arc's anime version ends, they'll just wait for the next arc to conclude before continuing the anime. That's like an extra year and a half at the ab...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

God, I hope it's not about waiting for Toyo-tarou. If the producers would pull their heads out of their asses and trust their directors and writers they would easily producer better content than Toyo-tarou. I never even considered that, and it makes so much sense. If the anime is being halted becau...

How improved will Xenoverse 3 be?

I played both Xenoverse 1 and Xenoverse 2 and, after the experience I had, me calling it anything but "poor" would be an understatement. I had so many issues with just about every aspect and feature of this game that all I could say without writing an essay is "for the love of god, please do better ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

To be honest, I think the animated portion of Dragon Ball Super is dead (or in purgatory at the very least). Think about it. The staff that worked on Super dropped it to work on other anime, we were repeatedly told they had no current plans to ressurect the anime last year, and the people that atten...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

No, thank you for reminding me about that. If she isn't lying then that means we'll at least get something later this year. It's either the song or the song and a movie trailer to go along with it.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I'm just interested to know what is happening with Kitaro's replacement, as Toei have produced for that slot for the past 20 years. Assuming Kitaro isn't being extended again, as they have yet to announce another set. I don't think Super is coming back, not any time soon anyhow. No staff is kind of...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

They want to focus on the next movie and then bring back the anime with the manga as a base, toyotaro years ago said he would eventually get ahead of the anime and that while at the time he was getting more ideas from them, it would eventually flip. Whether you like that or not is up to you but tha...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Honestly, it's time to stop and just accept the inevitable (and, frankly, obvious) truth. I know Toei has a history of being erratic with their marketing, but I really can't see what made Super the odd man out when almost every other anime is being revived/renewed during 2020-2021. All those false ...

Dragon Quest having almost 1 year of production prior to the premiere should have a standard staff of 11 people.
Wait is this true? That means they've been working on this since after they finished the Broly movie, correct?

Even Toriyama understands that he is the authority [canon]. That DB must adhere to his rules.
Does going off-model count? Toriyama has this strange thing for skinnier characters now and Toei and Toyotaro have to very clearly deviate from some of his designs.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I feel like Toriyama lost trust in Toei after the disaster Super was, and has thus decided that in the future they will have to go back to adapting the manga as they did back in the 80s. Honestly this could be a good decision, especially for those of us who seek a more consistent product between bo...

I don't think anyone truly doubts that the TV series will return. Even the man himself, Toriyama stated that the show would not be running "for the time being."

That means the absence is only temporarily.
I feel like I'd feel better if I knew why.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I just realized something. Ajay did say some staff members from both Japan and the Philippines showed him proof that they were working on Super. And I don't see any reason why VAs and that other company I can't remember were so sure DBS was going to return if they haven't even started it yet. Does t...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

All the series Toei is doing right now combined won't make them nearly as much money as DB would with a weekly series so it makes no sense from a financial standpoint to have not brought it back yet. THe script for broly was done in summer of 2017, its been 2.5 years since then, you mean to tell me...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

If there aren't any staff left then does that mean no one is preparing for the new movie or is it being given to what's left of the SDBH staff? It just seems so odd that Toei just dropped the anime like it didn't even matter. Especially since so many things are getting brought from the dead and set ...
