Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Stricter laws my behind, it's quite obvious super is much softer and tonned down then z was, and dragon ball is teenagers, not pre-teens. Dragon ball was intended to appeal to an older audience then dr slump did which was an Shonenen manga as well, and wiki says 12 to 18. Besides, how in the world ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Both of your statements are misinformed. According to Wikipedia, "shonen is primarily intended for boys between the ages of 12 to 18". DB up to very recently did not take the international market into account or even had any knowledge of DB's popularity outside of Japan. Wikipedia isn’t the end of ...

Don't tell me this movie is going to be PG? Please PLEASE don't tell me this movie is going to be pg I just checked in B.o.G was PG. Nothing for R.o.F but i’d assume its the same. Even the first Broly movie was PG. Thats kinda sad. The first broly movie was PG? Whaaat? Are all DBz movies PG? No way...

Re: Is Dragon Ball still your favorite shonen?

Dragon Ball is not favorite Shonen, but I still like the series. I'm more of a Seinen person, but my favorite Shonen of all time is Devilman since it was publish in a Shonen magazine. I can't stand modern Shonen because I find them annoying to sit through. They mostly use friendship, fan service an...

Re: There is one criticism of super I will never agree with

Because tournaments are lazy and boring. Tournaments are just an excuse to avoid writing a gripping and elaborate plot and introduce a well-written and captivating villain. How could anyone find tournaments entertaining? There is hardly any tension, everyone knows that the -antagonist- cannot kill ...

It lacks originality, creativity and any desire of moving forward. It goes one step in new direction and two steps backwards. My in depth answer is a mix of doctor’s,ekrolo and grimlock’s comments.

Re: What’s everyone’s opinion on how the manga has so far handled the Universe Survival arc compared to the anime?

Think its just as terrible as the anime, but for completely different reasons. I think the major reason both are bad is that foundation of the arc is very weak and in reality no one outside saiyans and maybe freeza is given importance. In current situation, you can’t develop the other universes well...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

There's a lot of good stuff in there, glad the new secondary characters will have a role. Also didn't the producer just spoil that Freeza is trying to recruit Broly, not that was hard to guess. Glad Freeza's return is apparently being put to good use this time. Goku almost being a God..., what does...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'm not much of an manga reader, the only real manga I've read is dbs. So I really don't know, the reason I like his art because I find easier to make out what's going on. In other manga (one peice) I have to squint to even make out what the heck is happening, while for toyotaro it's much more simp...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions

Since the moment Broly was confirmed all I saw was pretty much "excitement, joy, booyah, hooray, boom shaka-laka" everywhere. If that was the case, I'm pretty sure I would see more people sharing my opinion, but this is not something I find everyday. Hell, I was called "killjoy", "you want attentio...

Hm? :| I had a hard understand what you were getting at in this post, I'm not saying kale eliminating fodder was that cool (especially since toyotaro didn't even both to show us the cabaillities of these people and why they lasted this long in the first place), but it does make kale even more impre...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Since "nothing conceptually new" is an admitted exaggeration, I won't bother addressing that. Your point that "power trumps everything" is explicitly undermined by Kale eventually getting worked around by the Pride Troopers. Like Cipher said, "focusing on the Saiyans" isn't new. Son Goku, someone l...
