Re: Toei's Dragon Ball Kai remaster

As for the upscaling, the program will work best upscaling in one go, rather than 720 up to 1080, then again up from there. The Kai series would benefit most from going from 1080p files pulled directly from the Blu-ray, then just upscale those to 4K. That isn't always the case, as sometimes the ups...

Re: Toei's Dragon Ball Kai remaster

Kai is another that I'd consider (those shots seriously look terrific), but I don't own the Blu-rays, so I'd need somebody to loan me those. Plus, quite a few episodes, so I'd prefer having a decent size "team" working on it together . Too big a project for just myself . I was suggesting we do Kai!...

Re: Toei's Dragon Ball Kai remaster

We have to apply this filter to the redesigned Dragon Box images and correct the colors to make it look more similar. Can you do that? :) I cannot, but it appears that @sumpter360 can at the very least do the Dbox upscale. As for the color, I have a few ideas and the two best follow the same princi...

Re: Toei's Dragon Ball Kai remaster

I believe the best result was '' 2 '' with granulation (similar to Level Sets). As stated above, there are 100 frames in 10 minutes. Why don't we build a team and make a decent release? It may take a while, but if we work only with canonical scenes and some fillers, we can go faster. I agree. Just ...

Re: Toei's Dragon Ball Kai remaster

It's not artifacts, it's the entire image being obliterated by the destructive filtering. :P That's not entirely true, but I understand what you mean. The only genuine destruction I can see though is the shading on Vegetas cheeks, the rest is simply the upscaler mistaking the black linework to be m...

Re: Toei's Dragon Ball Kai remaster

I wholeheartedly agree, although it seems like it's only a matter of time before those artifacts can be ironed out. Perhaps even with the Funimation-Smearâ„¢ technique.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Why don't they just put out an online release of the totally raw film scan. They barely do any work, and we get a much better copy of DBZ. I guess because funi thinks the majority of the casuals hate grain. Which might sadly be true. Yeah, but if it's online all they need to do is upload it. There'...

Re: Is there interest in a DEFINITIVE version for Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters?

This is something I've been thinking about for awhile now. I was holding off expecting a new remaster of Z from Toei or Funimation, and we all know where that went. I think a Yamamoto/Sumitomo score would be appropriate. Maybe use the Fusion theme for the recap and keep some tracks like "No More", "...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

I'm being honest. I though his use of Waifu2x with cc was impressive. I would prefer to watch DB, Z, and GT the way he edited those.

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

Yeah, Waifu2x is gross and should be avoided. but I think you could combine the two things, improve the quality and color of the image It's not that bad :( [spoiler] https://k62.kn3.net/8/F/D/F/B/D/429.jpg https://orig00.deviantart.net/ab82/f/2018/141/0/4/goku_final_dragon_ball_gt_by_trachta10-dcc6...

Re: [WIP] Dragon Ball Z Kai Kikuchi Revival

If you put the sfx restored version with the musicless audio in sony vegas, you will have to resync the audio well for my case at least, if you have a hard time syncing it the best way to sync it is to leave one channel of the music that comes from the 5.1 audio and try to match the audio with the ...

Re: [WIP] Dragon Ball Z Kai Kikuchi Revival

Maybe, problem is that it would take 900 years to do that and atm I am being lazy for the summer Is there any way to easily remove the Kikuchi score from your files? Or is it mixed in multiple channels? No, its mixed in stereo so you couldn't remove it, I could teach you how to get musicless audio ...
