Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Toriyama said he was working on "something new" so at least we got that. We don't know what it is though or whether or not it's even related to DB (it probably is). We still have an ongoing manga so at least whenever they decide to air 2uper (hopefully sometime this year) they'll have something to ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Actually, Dragon Ball is a huge export item for TOEI to both Americas and Europe and you can thank US for airing the show late and starting the revival of Dragon Ball with DBZ Budokai in 2002 at first, as Dragon Ball slowly ''died'' with the end of DBGT and Dr. Slump remake that ran after and now t...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

I'm positive I'm not the only person losing their patience, infact, I'm confident that there's at least a handful that are losing interest/given up hope after the 9th. Why do you think Toei would care that youtubers make a handful of USA fans losing their patience? I mean a weekly anime for Super w...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Why doesn't some Toei official just make a non-vague announcement or something? They had to shoot down 3 accusations and there's clearly an online uproar that gets louder every time some hoax comes in. Plus people, or just Geekdom (Ajay already proved he had connections), are manipulating fans for ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Its not a matter of having to wait, it's that announcing a new series just weeks before it airs is horrible marketing. The fact that a mid-May, late-May announcement is contingent on an awful marketing scheme, it sounds fairly unlikely at this point. Toei MIGHT just be stupid enough to do it anyway...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

If the series is coming in october, they don't have to reveal anything in their projected financials but if its coming in july they do? Someone eli5 pls They don't announce new animes in their financial reports. These reports only mention animes that are previously announced. That said, if the anim...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Over 30 sources and not one knew about the Goku day blunder? Or was able to shoot down past predictions like the Jump festa before it came and disappointed everyone? The sources didn't say (and apparently don't know) when Super 2 will be announced. These sources just said Super 2 will start in July...

When is next v jump?
I don't think they announce animes in the V-Jump magazine. The announcement of an anime usually happened before the magazine mentions something.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Here what I only think 1. Either ajay or geek only ask if it coming July instead of asking like “if it will air on tv in July” for lost translation They said their sources don't know about the announcement days. Then these sources mean Super 2 will air in July. 2. It might get announce in June and ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

I expect a press released to be dropped on a random day, don't know why people put so much stock in to anniversary of Z or goku day, its not like those have ever been big deals before. in 2015, i believe they announced on april 28 which was no special day. It is because the leak said that Super 2 w...

I've seen more people blame Toei (who didn't do anything wrong) than them.
It is funny people are blaming Toei when they don't do anything wrong this time.

Toei seems to be pretty cautious, which makes it very likely that they still have a lot of work to do.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

Anything Ajay and Geekdom put up on Youtube is going to get a lot of views so I highly doubt they did those videos for that reason. I understand fans aren't happy with the wait but to blame the people trying to make it easier for us makes no sense at all. Anytime Ajay or Geekdom said something they...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

No, that is not what the word LITERALLY means. Canon means literally "scale" or "guideline". It is an existing Latin word. That it means "work by the author" or "what I like and do not think sucks" or "something as consistent as I as a consumer allow it to be" is not what it means. Fine. You don't ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

And when I said it sells better than the anime I meant the DBS anime DVDs/BR do not rank in comparison to other anime while the DBS manga does rank in sales in comparison to other manga. This is just in Japan. I believe the anime does sell quite well in the US. This comparison is strange. The sell ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

That's what I meant. That's how I see a 'normal' Saiyan relationship playing out: Two of them get together, have a quick fling, then they go back to their business with one keeping an eye on the kid(s) while in the incubator. It seems the concept of marriage (and nuclear family) exists for the saiy...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Because I don't remember Freeza ordering all Saiyans to return in the TV Special. So, in the Bardock special, all the saiyans were on the planet by coincidence (although they constantly travels to conquer other planets), before it was destroyed. Right? You have a point about when the movie was made...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

i still haven't seen the old movies. They were made before Toriyama gave us that tidbit about how saiyans view family, though. Different races in sci-fi/fantasy allow for easier conceptualizing of different ways societies can be structured; sticking so closely to what we understand to be human is a...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

In this new version, it makes all Saiyans stupid, they can't even put two on two. How this doesn't happen in the old version? In any case, Bardock is smarter in this new version, because he doesn't need powers to suspect Freeza. i still haven't seen the old movies. They were made before Toriyama ga...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

I'd like to see the bravery to follow through with the idea that saiyans don't have the same conception of family as humans rather than this "good father" triteness. Why? I mean the idea of saiyan fathers "worried" about their sons isn't really new for the saiyans, we saw this before in other movie...
