Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced
So I haven't been keeping up with this game's announcements at all. Is it confirmed if GT characters and transformations will be in this? 'Cause it'd be pretty weird for a Tenkaichi game to skip over GT... Also wondering the same about pre-Z stuff.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
Toriyama was the one that started to regress Goku as a character, that I can agree. Toyotaro regressed Goku as a character in certain ways. However Toei they went overboard regressing and making Goku into a terrible and dumb character. Same with Goten and Trunks, Toriyama doesn't allow them to figh...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
This was a fun enough chapter, but Goku and Vegeta's relationships with fighting, training, and even themselves feels completely backwards. I just can't see Cell or Boo arc Goku acting the way he has throughout all of the Super Hero arc. It's doubly frustrating because Toyotaro keeps putting clear ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
Tenshinhan being the first true rival character (let's be honest Yamucha and Krillin were never serious rivals to Goku) and the growing pains that come with that are probably why Toriyama made sure to keep Piccolo relevant post-redemption by making him Gohan's mentor and why he delayed Vegeta's red...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
I think Buu is left out because his personality is felt to be too gag-esque? Or Shueisha simply doesn't think that he is relatable, and they can market more popular and humanoid characters. I mean, Buu is one of the most popular antagonists in DB in Japan, and I don't think he'd really be unpopular...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
As far as power levels go he's long been outclassed, I think the problem is candy beam being capable of neutralizing anyone stronger than him, and in ToP in particular, his healing would be ridiculously overpowered. It doesn't help that only maybe Freeza wouldn't be hit by candy beam if he felt it w...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
- It's weird how this movie acknowledges the events of the Super tv series like Jiren and the God of Destructions but Gohan's character has reset back to how we last saw him in Resurrection F. All that I need to train again to protect my family went right out the window, didn't it? Toriyama follows...

Re: What are the thoughts of the Japanese people regarding Dragon Ball Super?
That was a problem in regular Super, too. I remember when watching the ToP for the first time, how Ultra Instinct was hailed by the fans as this fantastic transformation. All I could think of, "Wait... Moving without thinking... Haven't we been here before?... Wasn't Mr. Popo's training all ab...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
Yes yes yes! <3 Namek is probs peak action writing from Toriyama, the entire cat&mouse game racing to the Dragon Balls between all these factions with Freeza, Krillin/Gohan/Bulma, Vegeta, Namekians is just executed masterfully. Easily primetime TV level of writing an intrigue that glues the vie...

I've got my fingers crossed for the DLC to cover either the original Z Broli movie or an arc from GT, ideally Baby. Either of those (or both, both would be good) would just be one more delicious middle finger to Super, on top of the prior pleasant surprise of the original Bardock special being adap...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
Ohhh this this this! I think it's one of the main aspects that bother me. Back in peak Freeza/Cell sagas a fight could also mean Bulma sneaking out to do something else and completly change the plot mid-way through the fight. Or Krillin destroying the remote controller. With Moro/Granolah, I found ...

North Kai said that he and the other kais help seal him up years ago? How can they if they are weaker than Nappa? Unless Bojack has been training inside of North Kai's planet. Sealing in DB isn't exactly related to power levels, Mutaito was able to seal king Piccolo inside a rice cooker despite bei...

Binging sure is more enjoyable. I followed Moro monthly but got to read Granolah in 1 go and it was a night-and-day experience. Although it's a disscusion on its own how much story progress/developement should each montly chapter contain to avoid feeling like a drag. IMO Toyo simply doesn't do enou...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread
The context of the BoG manga line was already stated by other users, no need to repeat their arguments. If you take at face value that panel, then you must believe Goku used SS2 vs Freeza... while the point was to show how SS and SS2 are equally boring to Beerus while only SS3 is a decent step up. ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
Agree. As a Goten fan I was really disappointed when Trunks got 95% of the moments and characterization. Goten really didn’t have a single moment to himself that wasn’t with Trunks or involving him. It's honestly kinda funny how Trunks consistent is the most developed character while Goten is just ...

Re: What are the thoughts of the Japanese people regarding Dragon Ball Super?
Following both Japanese and English-language social media reactions, they're virtually identical to ones in English-speaking countries. Basically every take I've seen in English, I've also seen in Japanese. The only difference is perhaps that it's obvious more kids (the actual target demographic) g...

Tenshinhan says after the Cell games that he will probably never see him again and Gohan qoutes this and can't recruit him for the tournament in the buu arc as a result. To be fair, it just seems that Tien just joined the tournament, in Buu saga Gohan just didn't seem to know where Tien was living,...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Looking back, Roshi teaching Goku the basics again makes a lot of sense. Toyotaro foreshadowed Goku’s character regress in Super Hero. Granolah arc also foreshadowed using dragon balls for an easy power up. Is kid Trunks confirmed as = CGs Future Trunks? Vegeta stated to #17 before the ToP that his...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Manga Chapter 101 - Official Discussion Thread
Well, we already had SD, Heroes (even Heroes anime/manga!) running cocurrently to Super so it's not THAT unusual I guess. But Toei's definitely treating Daima as the more 'mainline' product. Although if it's still suppoused to be just a one-off anniversary mini-series then even moreso there's no re...
