Re: What happened to the Z Fighters in Cell's Timeline?

I'll just argue that Cell is talking about baby Trunks (or time traveler Trunks before he hopped in his time machine), and those images are from Piccolo's mind. ;þ

Re: What happened to the Z Fighters in Cell's Timeline?

I think the main remaining issues would be Trunks getting ambushed by Cell despite the fact he should have known the location of Gero's lab, and Cell ending up one year further in the past just by pushing the button. I don't know if we came up with some satisfying fanwank for all that... I remember ...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

He still wouldn't have time, because the first thing he'd do when he got out of the pod would be go to fight Freeza, not listen to a stranger's story. If Trunks can tell where Gokû will land (and it looks like he can), he can catch up with him right away, and I think turning into a Super Saiyan wou...

Re: So at first we're introduced to Kami as "God" but then....

So who exactly appointed Kami to be god? Mr. Popo? The previous god? And why? He's just some bumbling traveling Namekian. He's a powerful Nameccian who got rid of his evil aspects. What gives him the right to be Earth's god, god to the human race, which he is nothing like? How anthropocentric of yo...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

You know, when you think about it, Trunks' plan to talk to Goku without the others knowing, before the fight with Freeza, was flawed anyway. Since Freeza was waiting for Goku to come to Earth so he could kill him, when could Trunks get the time to talk to Goku before Freeza went after Goku and foug...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

Now it makes sense! I think an anxious Trunks showing up before Gokû could teleport already made sense... Cell made the alternate time-line changing the arrival of Goku. Er... Cell got there one year earlier, sure, but he spent all that time underground and we're still talking about an object in ou...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

'Didn't look like Trunks was expecting Gokû to collapse right then and there though. And if he was planning to meet Goku when his pod landed, he would not expect Goku to collapse. What I meant was that if Gokû was supposed to collapse/die on that very day , I'd personally expect Trunks to mention t...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

Or he could/would have suffered from it during his fight with Freeza and Cold or moments after. 'Didn't look like Trunks was expecting Gokû to collapse right then and there though. The only thing that seems to be different is that the fight with Freeza and Cold never happened Also, Gokû had a big f...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

I never said you could not alter events. Trunks alter things in the manga. But Dragon Ball uses to a different model of time travel: multiple timelines. When Trunks goes back in time, he creates/ends up in a new timeline where he's perfectly free to alter anything he wants. while you may be able to...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

No sir. I suggested a variation of the harmony theory, and predestined time line theory. Those aren't "theories" at all, just clumsy handwaving that's often used by lazy/dumb writers (and generally accompanied by nonsensical pseudo-scientific terminology, in order to lend the whole thing a false se...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

You were the one saying that is how time travel works - time travelers change things around just because. Their mere presence change things, butterfly effect and all that, yeah. Given time . You simply can't expect Trunks' arrival to immediately alter something in outer space, just like you can't e...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

It's pointless and, quite frankly, dumb. No more than time travel just did it. Considering that's what you're arguing ("fucking time machines, how do they work?"), it's precisely as dumb as that. Trunks must have accidentally tapped the ground a little too hard and knocked the Earth farther from Go...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

You're trying to apply something real in a non-real situation. I'm assuming the flap of a butterfly's wings don't cause instant tornadoes, not even in the world of Dragon Ball . That seems like a fair assumption to me. Thing is, you can't even begin to explain how Trunks' recent arrival in that tim...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

First you would need to provide a possible scenario of how there are spaceships and time-machines. Actually, you would need to ignore the laws of physics and rewrite the basic example of the butterfly effect to something like "the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brazil can set off a tornado on Jupit...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

You definitely never heard of Chaos theory. I just happen to have a far better understanding of it than you do, apparently. Trunks presence didn't change Cold's ship speed nor his presence had anything to do directly with the alterations in the timeline. What it did was make subtle changes here and...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

I'm going to assume you never heard of Chaos theory before. I have. I guess I just never heard about how the presence of one extra human being on a planet could possibly accelerate an arriving spaceship like that. Are you arguing Trunks increased gravity to that point? Is he really that massive? (a...

Re: Who beat Freeza on Earth in Future Trunks' timeline?

There is nothing to dictate that because Goku did it in the manga timeline, it happened exactly the same way in Trunks' time. For all we know, Goku and Freeza could have arrived at the same time, or Goku could have been the one to arrive ahead of Freeza. How could Trunks' appearance delay the arriv...
