Re: Do the first 13 Z films fit into the anime canon?

Only Dead Zone and Cooler's Revenge is supposed to be part of the original anime canon. Everything else is alternate timeline. IN fact, Fusion Reborn suggests there's a huge mega-timeline where pretty much all the movies happened in some form or another. However aside from that Bojack Unbound and Wr...

Re: Who created the 12 Dragon Ball universes?

The Kaioshin did. The Kaioshin are creation gods afterall.

The world tree could possible be something that connects the universes together by being the source of the Kaioshin's existence.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion

Dragonball has always been, and will always be a anime/manga property targeted towards young and older children. The series having nudity, perverse jokes, violence has nothing to do with parents not treating their kids like they're stupid but rather the different standards Japanese culture has to ap...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion

Beerus is awake and the first announcement about the series said they'd fight an opponent stronger than Freeza. Ok? So when does that suggest the footage we see takes place after Revival of F? It's completely possible the first episode or two to act as a recap to what's been going on between the mo...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion

- The footage we saw obviously takes place after Battle of Gods and before Revival of F. It's not obvious at all. I mean, sure, it can take place in that time period, but they can give a billion reasons for why Goku goes SSJ, or for any other thing you saw in the teaser. So why do Goten and Trunks ...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion

I let the teaser sink in a bit. Some points I'm noting: - The footage we saw obviously takes place after Battle of Gods and before Revival of F. - It's probably from the first episode of the series (teasers like this usually are) - Was it explained in Revival of F why Goku and Vegeta were training w...

Re: Super as continuation of Z/Kai or Manga/Toriyama movies?

I mean no harm but what's with the sudden respect for GT? I thought everyone would be glad that something could replace it. Now suddenly I see people wanting GT to happen (well it already did.. but you get it),. Besides ain't GT getting lots of stuff thanks to DB Heroes I never cared for GT myself,...

Re: Super as continuation of Z/Kai or Manga/Toriyama movies?

When it comes to the GT debate: I feel like ignoring GT would be a bad decision, however I think for Super to be successful as a series it needs to have a clear progression with Goku and co. What I mean by this if we look at the supposed "canon" material of Dragonball aka everything Toriyama wrote, ...

Re: YACT: Yet Another Continuity Thread (now with Xenoverse!

I'm not sure why we would need Xenoverse to really tell us this. I always thought it was pretty obvious most Dragonball material outside of the manga takes place in alternate continuities, and GT is no stranger to this. Everything is still "canon" as long as it's official work, but it's obvious Drag...

Re: The Mystery of Time Travel (DBO, Jaco, and XV)

I find it interesting how much love time travel as a concept is getting with the expanded lore Toriyama is coming up with for the series. Definitely some interesting ideas that I hope someday get better clarification on.

Re: Becoming a God

Very good question, I've never stopped to think why the Saiyans, I just assumed that's because both Goku and Vegeta are the main characters and that will never change. I would definitely love to see a way for Piccolo and the humans to get Godly Ki. They can. Afterall you do get godly ki once you ac...

Re: Should the next DBZ movie be 2D or CG Animation?

If they can get it to look like Harlock, absolutely CG. Otherwise keep it simple at 2D.

It needs to be cartoony CG though, not super realistic.

Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" (PS4/XB1/PS3/360) Official Threa

I think DB characters are often ignored in the relevance because of the difference in power. Not many outside the Z cast are fighters as well. The ony real DB elements that would fit are stage designs, end-characters and the piccolo storyline. Though I think it should be compensated by a balance of...

Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" (PS4/XB1/PS3/360) Official Threa

I love to see GT era characters in. GT is, however, undeniably a canon sequel to the end of Dragonball. It may not intertwine with some of the various continuities in the series by any means, but it's definitely an official work and it isn't that bad either. GT's only true crime is how much rehashin...

Yeah Yamcha is awesome but it's too bad they never really fixed his beta-male-ness in the series. Tenshinhan too. I kind of wish Toriyama wrote something for the humans to ascend to Saiyan levels as well.

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life. I just watched a batch of episodes toward the end of the series and I can't help but come to appreciate Si Xing Long even more. He was a truly great character that even though he's an Evil Dragon who radiates negative energy, he has a good heart, which w...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions

- Android arc is better than the Freeza arc quality-wise, but Freeza is obviously the all time GOAT villain and his battle with Goku is one of the best in the entire series and has more meaning to it than ANY battle in Android arc. - I always thought the Red Ribbon Army arc dragged on more than any ...

Re: Is Dr. Slump in DB?

Daizenshuu 4 says that #8 is biological. Anyway, I prefer to subscribe to the theory that that physical location opens a gateway to a parallel dimension because there's no real way Dr. Slump's earth is compatible, geography-wise, with the Dragon Ball world. In fact, Dr. Slump's world is more of a c...
