Oh well...whatever. The sun's not alive, but it produces energy. That's the way I see it. And not only did #17 and #18 donate energy to the Genki Dama, but also #8; as far as I know, he was completely android.

I never said plants weren't alive. Now you see my logic. :?

With Akira, I actually did read the manga. The movie didn't make sense to me, though the manga did. Same with Evangelion. Crazy, eh?

Mmm...Sailor Moon...that was probably the first anime I ever saw. Wow, you know all their names and can describe them...!

Well, I liked Akira. Like Evangelion, I didn't get it at all. Just when I think I understand an anime, it throws me off completely (like in Evangelion, when Adam was actually Lillith...blah blah). I guess the only anime I like are ones I don't get.

This won't really answer your question, but the grow-really big thing is an example of why PL's don't measure energy ki. Piccolo did that grow big move but reverted back, saying it took too much energy. Well, if you would say him growing big also boosted power, then yes, it is an example since his b...

As I said, only if you count his actual age...meaning from the time he was born. Well, that wouldn't make sense, since age is how long you've been alive, and he was dead and all... Basically, by actual age I mean the time since he was brought into existence...or something. His actual age was 47 at t...

I'm too lazy to show you some actual quotes and stuff...
Basically, Viz does a pretty good job at translating. But there are some instances where they could have translated things better. It's still pretty good; it's not like they completely change the overall message.

Evangelion is probably the only anime series I'd watch. Even though I've never watched the series...only seen the movies (and read the manga).

I dunno about those ages...Here's what I've come up with. Son Goku was 12 when the series starts. By then time he looks for the dragon balls again and encounters the Red Ribbon Army, he is about 13. Three years pass and he fights in the 22nd Budoukai, and then defeats Daimaou. Another three years pa...

Another point of interest...they didn't edit Assistant Black (or whatever his title was), and he was drawn in the same lip style. Perhaps Viz received complaints about that, so they changed it for Popo?

Frothy mugs of water... Dragon Ball/Z was one of the first major anime shows to reach America. So people got into DBZ, and after realizing they like anime, went for other shows. I'm not really an anime fan, but I did enjoy Akira and the Evangelion movies. And I would say they were better than Dragon...

Dragon Ball is aimed at a younger audience. It's an comedy/action series. Evangelion is a psychological/religious/philosiphical/Kabbalistic/subliminal/really-kick-ass-mechas-that-have-really-cool-guns-and-lances series that made no sense to me. It just so happened that American audiences were introd...

Of course people know Mr. Satan is Mr. Satan. Perhaps you meant H E R C U L E. It doesn't matter to me if they tone down cussing and stuff. Just so long as they don't change something important like the story or the basic message, it's okay. Apparently they think Satan is much more severe than hell....

I think it's all in how it's used. Dragon Ball is and was marketed as a kid's show. So Viz keeps it censored since alotta little kiddies read the manga. Sandland, on the other hand, was a new manga that no one really knew about in the US. So even though they're published in the same magazine....I du...

Viz has to censor somethings to avoid things like lawsuits and complaints. And also, there are a lot of instances where dialogue could have been translated in better ways. If you already own them in Spanish, just keep them and forget about the English ones. I still like the US Shonen Jump and the gr...

If you had any sense at all you could clearly see that Dragon Ball AF is most definitely real, duh... Look at the picture of Shenlong and that concept art Deus ex Machina posted--they prove it! And my friend's cousin in Japan knows this guy who saw it!

Basically, ki is a person's life force. Chikara is a Japanese word meaning along the lines of physical power. So, chikara (power) is how much of a person's life force (energy/stamina) is applied to their bodies in terms of strength. A power level is a reading of how much chikara a person has. When a...

I don't really hate GT. I actually think it's pretty cool, minus the plot holes. Damn, nothing's really left after that though. If you don't consider the plotholes, the series is pretty cool. At least I think so. Anywho, yah, the new ending leaves more room for continuation in GT. But this is the ma...
