Re: What kind of merchandises do you like buying?

The Figure-rises are about the size of MG kits, so I guess RE/100 would be the closest equivalent (but I've never built them and don't know if they have stickers or not). Most Figure-rise kits are about $20-$30, with only the bigger ones or ones with more accessories being more costly. HG kits pric...

Re: What kind of merchandises do you like buying?

I do enjoy collecting the figures though, and with my love for Gunpla flowering like never before, I'm growing increasingly interested in the Figurise Standard DBZ kits, though I'm not so sure on their quality or size for their price. I love them. Some of the earlier ones are a bit janky sculpt-wis...

Re: What happened to the 'Animation Styles' page & can we bring it back?

Yeah, I checked it recently and the specific animator information seemed to have been removed. Though it was a very basic overview. I am not demanding this from the Kanzenshuu staff, who I'm sure are super busy with life and other things on the site, but in general, I really want a detailed guide to...

Re: Can't get into Kai

There are a number of Buu arc episodes in the Dragon Box that have a green tint to them. Not like Boo Kai does.... Not at all like Boo Kai does. Well, the super bright episodes look atrocious, especially since there's a cyan tint, and somehow the whites have become darker than the surrounding color...

Re: Why did Android 20 deny being Dr Gero?

I don't think he planned on it from the start of the saga, but I think he made up his mind that he would be Gero once he actually designed and debuted #19 and 20. Why else have him be an old geezer? Was the scene of Goku punching 20's hat off and revealing his brain anime filler? If not, then I thi...

Re: Can't get into Kai

Now Boo Kai is utter shit. Barely removed filler, cropped to widescreen, and that fucking tint. I will never overcome my trigger from the green tint that just ruins it to me. I would take Funimation's bullshit (season sets, 30th Ann.) anyday because those are good products compared to anything with...

Re: Worst Dub Errors/Mistranslations

A strange one in Kai is when Goku's telling everyone he's gonna stay dead, he says something along the lines of "King Kai was already revived, but he's going to stay here with me." When he's shown with a halo, clearly still dead. The original like was that Kaio chose to stay dead (still don't know w...

Re: Is Tai'ichiro Ohara the most underrated artist/animator?

His work was certainly very good, but for the old Last House days I think Shida overshadows him (and I'm a big fan of the art style he had back then too). I agree that Shida was the star of the studio, but I wouldn't call him underrated. His work was some of the most praised and still is to this da...

Re: Team Four Star's influence on Dragon Ball's revival

It certainly made people push jokes from a parody series into their reading of the actual show. I think that's unfair. TFS's jokes were already memes throughout much of the DB community. Yamcha is a loser, Krillin dies all the time, Goku is a lousy father, and disdain for power levels all predate T...

Re: Is being attracted to a Dragon Ball character considered weird?

Some artists have basically done nothing but draw Ayanami Rei for twenty years, even! I find that sort of dedication amazing. When it comes to Rei Ayanami, I don't think anyone draws her as hot as Mogudan. And when you compare his earlier drawings (which were already quite good) of her to his curre...

Huge fan of this series, Gaffer you are easily my favorite DB related Youtuber out there.
Yeah, and is one of the few who actually know anything about the series and doesn't base their analysis and speculation on the FUNimation dub script and other misconceptions.

Re: Orange Bricks vs Blu-rays (2014) - Definitive Discussion

I've got the Orange Bricks of DBZ seasons 1 and 2 purely to fill in the gaps left in by the abrupt cancellation of the Ultimate Uncut Editions(BTW did Funimation ever explain why those were cancelled? I can't find anything online about it)for the first 67 episodes. From my understanding they were c...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

The entire film has a red tint. jaisonas didn't correct that red tint problem, only changed a few elements in the frame to look like they're not affected by it. I removed the red tint from the whole image ( ROUGHLY, as I said. BY HAND I said. I never said mine was perfect, in that original post I sa...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

It's barely blue... His clouds are outright pink, just like the unaltered Dragon Box footage, which they wouldn't be if he used an actual color balance adjustment over the entire image instead of just changing the sky skin and armor colors, which isn't what color balancing is... And again, I stated ...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

It isn't white balanced though. Editing the colors of only certain objects in an image isn't white balancing.

He has parts that have more white, but it's not a white balance applied to the entire image.

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

Uh... he didn't fix the white balance at all. Jaisonas manually changed all of the colors, which results in the clouds being pink and other, various issues. It's not a true color restoration job. Besides... what does 1-2 values matter anyway? I did it by hand and stated it was a rough estimate. GIMP...

Re: Color Correcting the Dragon Box - 3 Part Spectacular

Here's roughly how it's supposed to look:

I removed the color cast by adjusting the levels, then I edited the sky colors by adjusting the hue of it.

The sky during that fight isn't supposed to be so saturated, and in the second shot you somehow didn't correct the pink color cast on the clouds.
