Re: Official "Show off your Dragonball Crap" Thread

Does anyone have a link to where I can find the raw version of the original dragon ball online? I'd check yahoo Japan where you can find the Dbox singles pretty cheap :D Um, DB Online was a free MMO. nothing to do with the Dragon Box. And why would you want a raw when theres a mostly patched englis...

Re: How Much Does Your Mom/Sister/Grandma/Girlfriend Know About Dragon Ball?

This makes a really weird assumption that every person reading this — and furthermore that every single fan — is male. Dragon Ball is not some exclusive boys' club. This made me laugh more than it should have. My mom knows what Dragon Ball is but only so far as she'd say 'Oh that show about banana ...

Re: At which point did Chi Chi's hair stop being blue?

I'm not sure it ever was blue, at least, if it was it was likely only blue for the odd image. Even in her earliest appearances her hair was black:
http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4116/4864985457_ef62f1b212_o.jpg
The most popular image of Chi Chi with blue hair seems to be the imag...

Re: Kameha-con 2018!!

I'm really glad for fans that Peter Kelamis will be in attendance,he was my first Goku and I'm sure he was for a lot of you guys too. It's a shame it is muddied somewhat by this whole drama thing, and I know it's not confirmed to be Schemmel's doing (although I think most have made their minds up), ...

Re: Will GT ever get a manga adaptation?

It'd be great to see some of the concepts of GT redone, but I'm pretty sure it will never happen in anime format. And I'd rather explore new territory as well.

The main thing that'd be great to see adopted are some of the designs like SSJ4 and Goku's outfit change.

Re: Bad outweighs the good by a good margin?

Most of your reasons for bad are inconsistencies, which Super is full of. That's likely peoples main issues with it, and we are in an age of television and anime where we aren't really used to this, even modern children s cartoons have consistency now. For me it came to a point where I just pushed t...

Re: Is Kanzenshuu Becoming Toxic?

I've been here almost 10 years and I would say there has definitely been a change in the forum, but definitely not for the worse. Moderators seem to have relaxed over the years, maybe its a case of being worn down but I personally prefer how things are now, it's clear where the line is between negat...

Re: If Disney buys 21st Century Fox they'll be getting the Dragon Ball movie rights

I thought Disney still had distribution rights in Japan? It looks like Disney Japan distributed the home video release of a few of their more recent films. However, theatrically they were all Toho releases. Okay, change "Disney doesn't have anything to do with Ghibli anymore" to "Disney essentially...

Re: If Disney buys 21st Century Fox they'll be getting the Dragon Ball movie rights

So Disney is gonna own Fox and is partnered with/owns distribution of Ghibli in America. Disney and 20th Century Fox present: A Studio Ghibli adaptation: Goku & the Journey West I know you're just kidding, but Disney doesn't have anything to do with Ghibli anymore. I thought Disney still had distri...

Re: Thoughts on Gatekeeping in the Community

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by gatekeep. Could you explain? Regardless, the unfortunate fact is that due to the high exposure and popularity of the Toonami dub, those elements are part of the majority of the western Dragon Ball audience. A fair few fans object to the "new" version of Goku's ...

Re: Akira Toriyama named in Paradise Papers leak

If this is true, how will it affect DB ? Would Toei cut ties with him due to his public image in Japan being ruined or at least tarnished ? I doubt it, as tax avoidance usually is conducted lawfully it is just a case of what people think is morally right or wrong. There are far larger names on the ...

Re: Akira Toriyama named in Paradise Papers leak

It's not worse than what other rich people do like America's Hollywood icons that people worship. That really doesn't justify it though. I don't want to get into a debate about it, but tax avoidance serves to increase tax burdens for middle-income and lower-income earners, it contributes to poor li...

Re: Akira Toriyama named in Paradise Papers leak

How disappointing. Whilst he probably has someone else handle his finances, or at least advise him on investments, it is sad to think he would be aware of this and still go ahead with it.

Tax avoidance is truly a greedy act which re-enforces inequality and only serves to bankrupt social order.

The Universe 9 erasure, but then that is overshadowed by future Zeno erasing the entirety of future Universe 7 (and who knows, maybe even the other universes too). Re: Who really is the definitive Son Goku?

It's a matter of degree. Some actors I can make the disconnect, other actors are too much for me to take if my issues are far greater. I don't agree with most of Hollywood's politics, but I still see movies they are in. However, some actors are so awful, I don't care how good they are, I refuse to ...

Re: When DBZ aired in the UK

I remember these very well. I was around 5-6 years old when DBZ started airing here in the UK, i can even remember the advert leading up to its airing which involved some guy eating sushi with chopsticks. The constant jumping back after an arc had finished was part of watching the series in the UK, ...
