Re: What Is That Instrument in Upa and Bora's Theme?

It's called a Jew's harp.

I recently watched A Boy Named Charlie Brown, and Snoopy has this running gag/schtick throughout the movie where he pulls one out and plays it.

Re: Want to identify a music cue from the anime? Go here!

kenisu3000's cue titles call M723 "Apples for Gohan!", but there is another slowed-down version of this cue that he doesn't give a distinct M-number to (I've been calling it M723-A). It seems way more commonly used in the series, and I've always thought of it as the truer version. Yeah, that was be...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!

I'm looking for a particular GT Track from the Japanese version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrKNNUwYMNw It plays at 3:03. When S17 starts to mount offense on SSJ Kid goku Oh, that's Yamcha The Strong Foe ~Rogafufuken~ from the tenth anniversary movie. It's available on CD - track 12 on that mo...

Re: "Gohan's Theme" Hidden in Ocean Dub Episode 3

HOLY CRAP. If I remember right, I haven't seen the Ocean dub of the Raditz episodes since long before I first watched them in Japanese (and I didn't know the music score that well then, plus the BGM Collection hadn't come out yet with its plethora of cues with the Gohan leitmotif), so I never caught...

With a library score, which is what Yamamoto wrote, most of the time it's not the composer who's responsible for music placement. Somebody else makes those decisions.

Re: Herms watches the show (update: DB 26)

I remember being really weirded out by the absence of the Kyou-Ken sequence when I first got the two-disc Tournament Saga. Even in the finished episode it looks like there's a cut there (Goku starts to slowly turn his head to face Jackie and suddenly the footage jumps to him facing Jackie full-on), ...

Re: What if Disney were the ones to remaster DB on Blu-ray?

Disney would come within 25 episodes of completing the series' release on DVD. And then hold those last 25 episodes hostage in their vaults just for the hell of it. Shoot, while we're at it, as unimpressed as I am with Columbia's track record for releasing BGM on CD, if Disney Records were also in c...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!

That site is incredibly helpful. I was wondering one thing about the GT tracks. And, sorry if this has been asked before, but how did you get the track titles? IIRC, (most? none?) of GT's soundtrack was officially released. Most of the cue titles on my site are unofficial. I just made them up to fi...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!

Hope it comes back. Will be very sad if it doesn't :( Yeah, I don't know what's going on. The bandwidth counter resets on the 3rd of the month, and that's happened and everything, but here it's been August for almost a whole week now and still my site's frozen. I've looked around troubleshooting th...

Re: What's that BGM in the Japanese version? Read the OP!

Yeah. I always feel like my pants have dropped whenever my site goes over its bandwidth. That's a hazard of being constantly broke and unable to have a paid site. I'm surprised it hasn't come back up yet, maybe that's because it's Sunday? Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure it'll be back tomorrow. ED...

Re: Will Buu Kai OST be released?

One single-disc OST would only give us about half of everything that's been featured in Boo Kai so far. Maybe even less.

And I guess I *am* getting kinda worried about whether or not they'll decide to release any of Sumitomo's non-movie work at all. Hmmm...

Re: Should Toei get a big composer for DBZ 2015 Film?

Just honor Kikuchi's legacy and try to find something that fits the tone of the show. A tone that's been established for decades . Write some happy music for once. I'm sick of the choirs, the synthesizers, and the lifeless, lazy droning that pretends to be "atmospheric." Bring back the melodies. Br...

Re: Kai Episode 112 (06 July 2014)

Well, nuts! The video I've been using to document the music from this episode didn't include the sponsor credits, so I don't know if Sponsors Music B has been changed to reflect the new ending song or not. I don't want to surf through shady, virus-y sites to try and find a video with the sponsors in...

--As Goku turns into King Kong, the closing narration for the episode is lifted right out of the manga: “not even the author knew this was going to happen!” The anime also adds a quick line here that wasn't in the manga. After saying "Even the author is shaken up at this!" the narrator adds "Whoops...

Documented this episode's BGM.

This is the first episode in the Majin Boo arc to not feature any new cues, though we do get to hear previously-unheard sections of earlier cues, like "Unimpressed" and "Cheering On Videl".

Re: The International (/Korean) Version of the Buu-Kai Arc

here's bad news for kenisu3000 ; The music placement is vastly different than that in the Japanese version. I was sort of expecting it when I first read that the international version had a different episode count than the Japanese TV broadcast. At this point, the only thing about it that would tru...
