I'd say that Dragon Ball Z is a show for kids in Japan, but a show for teenagers in the UK and US, for the simple reason is that Japanese culture is different from ours. I don't think Japanese mothers of kids really mind their kids watching a show that has blood and gore and stuff like that, whereas...

While Movie 5 can technically fit into the DBZ timeline, it has a number of inconsistencies that makes it un-canon. If this is after Mecha Freeza & King Cold's death, then why did Cooler acknowledge Goku as being the one who killed Freeza when it was Trunks? And it seemed like Cooler only knew about...

I think Mr. Popo has a power level of 280, probably. After all, he was able to whoop Goku's ass and Goku said that his punches hurt more than Piccolo's (although that's in the anime, not sure about the manga). Kami's 300 though.

16 said Piccolo's power rivaled the both of them, implying that they are in the same league of power, being equal. But I think 17 is a bit stronger.

Wow, Herms! That's a pretty good translation review! You would be good as an official Japanese translator for Dragon Ball manga!

I see the "Bardock: The Father Of Goku" special as being canon. I do not, however, see the "History Of Trunks" special as canon because in the special, it differs from the manga. In the manga, Trunks has already become a Super Saiyan before Gohan's death and 17 states that in their last fight, he on...

I mean, in DBZ, they never really had a funeral for anyone else, did they? Well, in most of those cases they were planning on wishing them back, so why bother? Goku was actually planning to STAY dead, so a funeral seemed in order. Yeah, I guess. Funny how that was the only funeral in all of Dragon ...

On the Thursday that just went, I purchased Viz's Dragon Ball Z Volume 19. Man, it was good. Though I was surprised to see that Cell decided to pull off a Kamehameha only just after 3 kicks from SSJ2 Gohan. They extended the fight a lot longer in the anime.

Heh. Didn't realize they had a funeral for Goku. I mean, in DBZ, they never really had a funeral for anyone else, did they? But I guess it fits, seeing as Gohan was wearing a black suit and all.

The Armbands In Trunks' Farewell

Something that I've always wondered...when Trunks is about to return to his own time after the Cell Games, Bulma and the others that were there to see Trunks leave (except Vegeta) are wearing black armbands. Why is this? Maybe I'm missing something in this, and it's some kind of common tradition tha...

Me and some of my friends acknowledge one another by throwing Kamehameha and various other Ki attacks at one another...but I suppose the two finger salute is cool too. I just took it for a Japanese culture sort of thing. Same here. I was wondering if it was to do with Japanese culture. And I've als...

I always took that gesture as being strange too. But I just put it down to Vegeta saying goodbye. The same happened in the manga too.

So, in conclusion, it's just a wave goodbye or something.

I prefer the FUNimation dub overall, probably because it was the first dub I was introduced to and the FUNimation voices are the same voices in my DBZ video games. I just thought the majority Ocean Dub voices sucked. Now and then, I've watched the Ocean Dub, but only up to the Freeza Saga, because I...

Don't think so
Listen when Yamcha pulls his arm back in the cutscene.
That isn't a fart. That's just the sound that happens when Yamcha does his Wolf Fang Fist.

Let's see... Budokai 1 was great for me. I loved the story mode and I actually got quite used to the Japanese voices, so when I went back to play BT3, I was like "Hmm, this feels weird." And SSJ2 Gohan when he said "Ka...me...ha...me...haaaa!" in a high-pitched voice sent a shiver down my spine. The...

Worst character designs in the series

Worst character designs... Android 19 was just bad. I mean, just look at him. He looked like a fat clown man with the worst clothes (not to mention his voice in FUNImation, but that's beside the point). Vegeta in GT was just horrible. They ruined his trademark hairstyle, his clothes were just awful ...

Piccolo's redemption

Here's what I think: Piccolo hadn't killed nearly as many people as Vegeta. Piccolo never even destroyed a single planet, whereas Vegeta did. Piccolo was born into becoming evil, and unlike Vegeta, his target was world domination and to kill Goku. Piccolo had no choice. Remember what Piccolo said to...
