Re: Does the sexualization of Bulma at the start of the series bother anyone?

It's worth noting that a study was done that showed being attracted to post-pubescent teens was fairly common it's just that people don't act on it whether for legal reasons, or moral reasons. Some people are mature for their age. That doesn't make them adults. I know people still mature into adulth...

But wasn't Raditz stated/implied to be more of an average level? Like you're standard run of the mill Saiyan, while Goku/low-classes was considered exceptionally weak?

Do all low class saiyans have Masako Nozawa's voice?

An idea that's been in my head for awhile goes as follows. What if there's an in-universe reason the entire Son family all share Nozawa's voice? What if it's just a trait of being a low-class Saiyan? The idea comes from Movie 3 when Tullece mentions that his likeness to Goku is a result of them both...

Re: The Shuki Levy score

I honestly haven't watched that much of DBZ with the Ocean cast, however from what I have heard I do agree with the "noise" comments. Now this isn't really a complaint since I'm a big fan of abstract/experimental music but every clip of the 96-98 dub I've seen seems to have what sounds like a variat...

Re: Were there any Dragon Ball releases on Betamax?

I always thought Betamax died before DBZ was even a thing. Did it have a longer life in Japan like Laserdisc did? If you or anyone else wants me to open them up and take a look at which movies in particular I have, I'll be happy to do so. Forgot to mention, these are Chinese. I'm not sure if Dragon ...

Re: Watching Dragon Ball with kid(s) and their thoughts/reactions

Back when I lived with my sister I watched DBZ with my niece and nephews a few times. They really enjoyed BOG and I remember my nephew getting pretty into BT3. Also I once lent my Dragonbox sets to my nephew when he was sick. I just can't get them to watch it subbed though. :problem:

Re: DBZ Blu-ray Orange Bricks are here to stay - "This is truly the best possible way to watch Dragon Ball Z"

As it's been theorised in the past the success of the season sets and failure of the level sets was mostly due to timing and value for money. The orange bricks were released a few years after the series had ended, and the only release was the old singles. 30 plus episodes, uncut in one set at an aff...

Just watch all of it. Why go to all the trouble of planning some super thought out way of watching the show instead of just jumping straight in and enjoying what the franchise has to offer?

Transformations are just a part of Dragonball, complaining about them is like complaining about new techniques or a new big bad villain.

Still can't believe after years of DBAF fanart we now have an official white haired form.

Why did they stop gravity training?

Ok this is something that's been bugging me for ages. Straight of the bat it's shown that 10x gravity sped up Goku's training, giving him more power in a year than he had achieved in his lifetime, then 100x boosted him up to near Ginyu's level in just one week. After that though, nothing.... I suppo...

Its really bugging me because it sounds like I heard it before. I'm gonna go on wayback machine... maybe it was on one of the old sites This is not real and should not be given any mental real estate. Considering that several people in this thread, myself included, seem to recall reading this quote...

Re: Dragonn Ball Home Releases: Funimation vs Madman

Probably worth nothing since it's the Orange Bricks; but the Madman release of the season sets uses plastic VHS case style packaging instead of flimsy cardboard. Much better IMO. The Rock the Dragon set has the recaps and previews and are even less censored (there are a few instances when death is r...

Re: Actor's/Seiyuu that you would like to hear in Dragon Ball?

Weird choice, but I've always thought Harry Shearer would be a good fit for Freeza if he used a more sinister version of his Mr Burns voice, and for Coola if he used something more akin to the voice he gave Burns in the first two seasons of The Simpsons.

Re: Is Vegeta a smart fighter?

There was really no need for him to be cunning in the Artificial Human arc. Him sneaking around Freeza was due to the fact that he knew the Big F was in another realm of strength compared to him, and the Ginyu Force was more than he could handle.

There's a rule in this world, you break the law, you go to jail. Watching anything online illegally is well...illegal. It's copyright infringment if it's on youtube, and if you're watching illegally it's basically like stealing. If it were up to me there would be "internet police" that track IP's t...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

With Goku and Vegeta's hair I wouldn't try and replicate the anime, instead I would make sure they had that messy bed head look. For villains like Cell and Freeza I would have them done using heavy makeup and prosthetics, only using CGI when needed. It would end up ageing a million times better in t...

Re: Favourite moves that were only used once or twice

The technique Trunk's used to grab Freeza's attention, later dubbed "Burning Attack" in the video games. The frantic hand movements really helped it stand out from other techniques.

Also "Dragon Thunder" and "Revenge/Flaming Death Ball" from GT.
