Re: The International (/Korean) Version of the Buu-Kai Arc

So what your saying is that THE most anticipated and build up to fight in the story since the Saiyan saga is not only insignificant but shouldn't have had any screen time as well? Are you serious? I have heard a lot of :wtf: regarding certain aspects of the series but this takes it to a whole new l...

Re: The International (/Korean) Version of the Buu-Kai Arc

Goku and Vegeta's rematch is insignificant ? Yes. The only purpose that fight serves is to fuel Majin Buu's revival. It did not need to be as stretched out as it was. The final battle of the story is insignificant ? The fight with Pure Buu is 7 chapters long (510-516), not 1-2. Don't forget, from E...

Re: The International (/Korean) Version of the Buu-Kai Arc

The only way to make the arc work as an anime is to have filler in it one reason being that in the manga the fights only go on for 1-2 chapters. So? If a fight only lasts 1-2 chapters then it must not have that much significance. Instead of dragging it out, adapt it for what it is and you could pro...

When it comes to how much can be cut out of the Buu arc, no! Only 23 episodes / 8 hours is not significant enough to justify it's existence and certainly isn't worth my money.

Re: The International (/Korean) Version of the Buu-Kai Arc

Though the placement has been a very mixed bag across both versions, the overall quality of the International Version is far superior. Would I have preferred a lesser episode count from 69, sure, but I understand and see why they produced that amount. But there's barely any difference between a 92 ...

Re: Kai Episode 115 (03 August 2014)

So wait. After TWO iterations of getting stuff chopped off (first from Z to International Kai and then from International Kai to Japan Kai), you still think the show is too bloated and long? Yep. If Toei would've reanimated from scratch, the Buu arc should be no longer than 30 episodes and even tha...

Re: The International (/Korean) Version of the Buu-Kai Arc

The more I hear about this longer International version of Buu arc Kai, the more I hate it. I still don't understand the purpose and value of this obscenely longer version of the final arc of Kai. Well, obviously the purpose of having more episodes is so Toei can sell the distribution rights at a hi...

Re: Should FUNimation have done a completely new cast for Ka

A complete recast? If we were back in 1999 I would've said yes in a heartbeat, but to do that now seems excessive. Sure we still have some voices that are weak (Son Goku, Piccolo, Tenshinhan) and others that are just plain terrible (Gyumao, Reacoom, Kaio), but for the most part the voices have eithe...

Re: What's with the love for filler?

Red Ribbon is 58. And I'm not sure where you're getting 51. By my count it's only 47 chapters long. It's only 58 if you group Uranai Baba with it... which I usually do, so point taken. The 51 comes from the Colored Manga new division of 195-245. 245 just seems a better stopping point than 241. But ...

Re: What's with the love for filler?

True, I think the Saiyan arc is too short in the manga. 51 chapters doesn't seem that short to me. It's longer than anything that came before it. The training isn't long. 10 straight episodes (9-18) is short!? Not to mention the Gregory episode (20) making it 11 altogether. I think that filler help...

Re: Where to buy the "Big Green Dub" DVDs from?

What about DBZ Movies 10-13 and the 10th Anniversary Movie? Did they A. Ever dub those movies in English with the "Big Green" voice cast? and B. Ever release them on VHS/DVD? I've always been curious as to what Big Green Goten and Trunks would sound like. And Teen Gohan and Videl to a lesser extent.

Re: Why do Kai haters say the the dub sounds boring?

You know how when your budget gets tight and you have to switch to generic, store-brand foods for a while, and then you make enough money again and go back to main-brand foods it can be a little jarring. I'd imagine it's something like that.

Re: Freeza - Transformation VHS

I wonder, if Funimation ever released a "Rock the Dragon Boxset Volume 2", would they use edited versions of English episodes 54-57, 64-65, or the uncut versions? Given how they only released the edited-for-TV version of Tree of Might, I'm guessing they'd do the same again.

Anyway, I would like to see more of Teen Gohan . I really love that character at that time, and outside of the cell games, and movie 9 , he is NEVER expanded upon. I want him to have more fights darn it... 10 years old is NOT A TEENAGER. Damn you Atari! Besides what would there be to show anyways? ...

Re: "Kai-ifying" the original Dragon Ball

How much episodes do you think this would have if it happened? Depends on how they did it. If they actually reanimated it from scratch and cut out all the filler, it would be around 50 episodes. However, since Toei would probably use the lazy cut-and-paste job they've been doing, I say it could be ...

in which case Dale wasn't asked to even re-audition for his role, which is unfortunate; he's a cool guy. If this is the case, I'd be okay with it. Yes Dale Wilson is an awesome VA, but his Cell is just... no. His first form sounds like an impersonation of Clarke's Cell with Strep throat, his second...

I'm honestly more concerned about Joji Yanami; he's 82! If anything unfortunate ever happened to him, it'd be as great of a loss to Dragon Ball as it'd be to lose Nozawa. We'd need a new Narrator, Kaio, Dr. Briefs, and Babidi! It wouldn't be the same without him!

Re: If we assume the movies are the result of a divergence

Movie 9 has more continuity issues than Movie 5 (i.e. it has one). Movies 5 and 13 can be fit in the main timeline without any issues. 1 and 9 DO have issues. I don't think that Movie 5 is completely free of errors, the biggest one I can think of is that Gohan has a Saiyan tail and has the bowl hai...

Re: Manga Inconsistencies and Plotholes.

Cell Arc: Only two people can enter ROSAT at a time. Buu Arc: Goten, Trunks, Buu, and Piccolo all seem to fit rather nicely in there I always thought that 2 people can enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and be able to live comfortably for a year (in terms of food and such) but by the time Piccolo & ...

Re: Why did the anime get so many of the colours wrong?

Only around 10% of the manga was in color during its original run and most of the time when it was in color it was that weird red-and-gray scale stuff. So by the time Toriyama had colored a certain character in the manga, Toei had probably already colored them in with their own color scheme a few we...
