Re: Kai Episode 97 (27 March 2011)

Did they really just retcon the fact that Kaio stayed dead? Whatever fansubs you read, they're horribly wrong and inaccurate. Goku says the same thing he said in Z, which is that Kaio-sama COULD have been revived, but he passed on it and chose to stick with Goku. After looking at one of the fansubs...

Re: Editing (Censoring) Errors Thread

Does editing out Tulece holding Gohan's eyes open in movie 3 count, since they show it just fine in the original dub opening? :P

Re: Kai Episode 97 (27/03/2011)

Man, talk about being way too fast paced, I haven't seen an episode this rushed since the ending of GT. Trunks barely had time to gather his wits after coming back to life before they switched scenes. Not to mention that I was surprised they didn't show Trunks defeating the androids and Cell in his...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Combo Packs for 30 bucks

I'm telling you, this is just a Walmart type of DVD bundling, mainly to save room on their shelves and as a cheaper alternative for the customers. It's nothing more than that and nothing new.

Re: Kai Episode 97 (27/03/2011)

Man, for a final episode, they sure tried pushing it right the hell out the door. The dialogue was way too fast paced since they were trying to rush everything. Especially funny how Trunks came back to life so quickly, a second after Shenlong says he'll grant it. Also felt Piccolo and #18 sounded re...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Combo Packs for 30 bucks

If anyone's interested in how the packaging is, each one is basically one large cardboard case holding the four individual thinpacks. Yeah, that's most definitely their exclusive bundles. They also have a method of releasing bundled thin packs from portions of various sets, labeling them as parts o...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai Combo Packs for 30 bucks

While on the job at Walmart today, I did a double take to see these bad boys. *Image Snip* These (while sending me into a rage seeing as I just bought part 4 by itself for $30) are a great value and will probably be phasing out the old packages. Do these sets still have the Yamamoto score? Or do th...

Re: Possibility of Boo Saga in Kai

I don't think we were blaming Toei per se (though I think they set their bar way too high for sales expectations), but it's well known how cheap they are Funny thing is that they're so cheap when it comes to spending money, but god help you when it comes to paying for the rights of something they o...

What's more is that 2009 was not only the same year Kai started in Japan, but also the year they finally completed the single releases for all of the Dragon Boxes.

Re: Kai Episode 96 (20th March 2011)

The problem is that there isn't a lot of actual room for silence for some of the scenes in this episode in particular. With the way it's presented, it's mostly Gohan struggling against Cell with their Kamehame-Has while everyone charges in. The few scenes that did have silence in them worked, but re...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs

I think that Toonzai started using Kikuchi's score early, and before Nicktoons, because 4Kids doesn't want any legal issues, so they are kind of smart to take action early. Plus, we get to see more episodes with Kikuchi's score. Think it may just have to do with the fact that the Toonzai versions a...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs

I am a bit distressed by this and am almost considered scooping up some DVDs before it's too late. Given that FUNi only got through half of the series with Yamamoto, that does prove to be annoying. How far did the Japanese DVDs/Blu-rays get into Yamamoto before this went down? I'm curious at what p...

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss

Absolutely agree. The Yamamoto score perfectly complemented the sped-up format of Kai. Kikuchi's just feels weirdly out-of-sync. Too bad Yamamoto's score had very little variation to it, which resulted in the same five tracks being constantly used. I love Yamamoto's score, but even I can admit that...

Re: Why was Adult Gohan drawn differently from Future Gohan?

As mentioned before, it's primarily because of the age difference and how they grew up. Gohan growing up as a kid trying to survive against two beings that have killed off more than half of the Earth's population all the way up to adulthood is obviously going to look different from the Gohan that en...

Re: Kai Episode 95 (6th March 2011)

I think it worked pretty well. I'm curious though, to know how you figured out that particular scene wasn't supposed to be/sound ''that'' heroic. Easy. The world is in danger. If Gohan hits Cell, he blows up. If no one does anything, Cell blows up. If anything even remotely happens to stir Cell up,...
