They needed to make space so that they wouldn't catch up to the Manga and run out of material to adapt. Plus, re-using Garlic Jr of all villains makes it much more personal between him and Goku's allies. He was also the only Movie villain at the time who wasn't actually killed in their movie. Haha ...

Does anyone know the reasoning as to why this saga was made? What made the Dead Zone movie or Garlic Jr. so special, that the studio decided they needed to add a story line in the anime?

Vegeta's Sacrafice is beautiful and Twist of Fate kicks so much ass! All the tracks are amazing ranging from Jazzy to Rock, it's a masterpiece. It's one of my favorite video game soundtracks period.
