Re: DBGT Bebi Saga Review
I guess it just bugs me because later Goku Jr. could go Super Saiyan and they never really delved into why she couldn't. I imagine she probably could've, but her role was never primarily combative. She was the emotional surrogate for the audience. Whether things are good or bad, Pan is always the o...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
But shouldn't he at least made an appearance to send off Trunks before he departed again? It's not like Gohan to miss something like this, he's important and It would've had little closure just to give him a wave or something, similar to the anime version. Why should he? Gohan and Future Trunks hav...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Is there a reason why Gohan's completely avoided? That's one of my disappointments of the manga. The rest is golden. :D Gohan had nothing to do with this arc. Even in the anime version, he was just kinda haphazardly inserted into places where it was convenient. As much as I think a relationship bet...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Okay, so I've seen the majority of the chapter now, and... Is it just me, or is this simultaneously the ugliest and prettiest chapter of this manga all at the same time? There are many panels with the infamous disjointed look of Toyotaro's more hasty portrayals of movement, but there are also some o...

Re: Toei Incompetence: Revisiting the "Sword of Hope" Asspull
Why is this being dug up again? We all have our own answers, you either love the end of the FT Arc for thematic reasons, or you hate it for going out of its way not to have any semblance of sense. Toei as a corporation isn't at fault for the the decisions of an individual director. I think that's al...

Re: Things that grind your gears
While I agree with you regarding names that are based on English words, I would allow leeway for that because, after all, there's no presumption that the audience knows English. Look at Piccolo. That's an English word, no doubt. But in Japanese, it's ピッコロ, which is "Pi-c-co-ro." Basically...

Out of curiosity, what's wrong with the clones? Zamasu had already defused. How does one consciousness become a million consciousnesses? Moreover, why are they in the Merged Zamasu form when Black and Zamasu were already separate? [quote="Jinzoningen" MULE"]it makes sense to me that ...

Which is still considerably more logical then the anime where NOTHING makes sense. That thing is literally the epitome of "rule of cool". Well they were a couple of things in the Anime that made sense, like um, that one scene were oh wait that didn't made sense, holy cow nothing in this ar...

I also just don't understand the mentality of those kind of people. Despite hating the show an incredible amount, they still come back to watch it each week. Why keep on watching it? I stopped watching Naruto Shippuden and The Walking Dead after my enjoyment for those series, which I had once loved...

They're not unique when it comes to the "cocky bastard when he's ahead, scared child when he's behind" part. They all throw temper tantrums when they start losing, no exception. They handle the situation differently. Sure, if you want to analyse it in the most superficial way, most don't ...

Something unrelated to the new chapter. Is this picture confirmation that the manga is going to be (at least) 8 volumes? If yes, then we can expect Super going on for a veeeery long time. Re: Deconstructing Your Greatest Criticisms with Super
I don't have a specific trigger. Super rarely does anything to actively frustrate me, it's just that it only impresses me once in a blue moon. I don't like the way it looks, I don't like the storytelling, I don't like the characterization, I don't like the music. I literally don't like anything exce...

Re: Things that grind your gears
What bugs me is when people use unnecessary Japanese versions of characters' names when we have had official English versions for (in some cases) decades. Going out of your way to say Kuririn (or, god forbid, Kulilin) instead of Krillin doesn't make any sense to me at all. To me, it feels unnecessa...

Re: Super's Manga vs Super's Anime Discussion
I haven't read the last chapter thoroughly yet, so I'll update this if my opinion changes once I read the ending on Viz's site in a few days, but as of now, I have to say that, while I'm not particularly a fan of either, I still prefer the manga's version, the primary reason being that despite its f...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
You know what I'd like? A true no BS bad guy to appear in the series. There's no boasting, no bravado, no code of honor, he just shows up at max power from the beginning and unrelentingly tries to kill the opposition. Even the characters who're kind of shown as no nonsense like Hit are either kept ...
