Re: Help Me Not Suck at Shin Butouden
Ah, the good old Shin Butoden... When I got the game (5 years ago or so), I played the shit out of it. I was really hooked on it. I captured even a little playthrough (with some very shitty moments for me and my Piccolo...) and put it on youtube. Unfortunately my old account was banned. Mhm, maybe I...

Re: Dragonball UK OP/ED Scene Idenfication?
Did either of these original floating logos/animations ever appear on any DVDs? For instance, the German version uses the Canadian animation... does this sequence appear on the German DVD? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i14fGY7UGE Actually the German AND the Canadian versions use the French animat...

Re: Hmmmm...Maybe We AREN'T The Only Dub That Replaced The M
I think, the German dub left out Spirit vs Spirit. Yes they did. For some reason, it was changed to a piece of publicly-available stock library music...at least this is what fellow Daizex poster Timo has said about it. According to him, it was used in two different places before: a Chevy commercial...

Re: German Release of DragonBall and DBGT Series announced
I am guessing this is dub-only still? For sure. More forgettable Stone Age DVDs... Poor bastards... You guys over in Europe just can't catch a break, can you? :? I wouldn't say that. At least Spain, France and Italy got pretty good releases. Besides that, a lot of German fans are happy with this ed...

Re: Fused voices for fused characters?
Th german dub was really weird with Fusiion voices. At first Gotenks had his own voice (not Goten´s not Trunks´, but his very own), but after one episode or so they started adding this jarring echo effect to his voice, they did the same thing with Vegetto and oddly enough Kibitoshin. Except for the...

Re: German Fandub?
So I was feeling nostalgic for the German DB dub last night and went online to watch a few clips. Reading through some sites, I got the impression that GT wasn't shown on television in Germany and that the clips I was seeing were a fandub. Can someone verify this? Most of GT's episodes were dubbed ...

Yep, right. It's called the "Music & Effects" track. Most of the time it's called "IT" ("International Tape").kei17 wrote:(I guess this is some kind of Japanglish. Probably Music & Effects?), ...

Re: Official German Real Action Music Videoclip - DB Intro
Yep. First of all, the lady who sang the song was Renate Haßlberger. Young Goku was voiced by Corinna Dorenkamp who was probably 18 or 19 years old at the time dubbing of DB began.

Re: Piccolo's lines in Dragon Ball Z VizBig Edition
"Was sagst du?" is correct. If your dialog partner is a superior, unknown or you have a lot of respect for him it would be "Was sagen Sie?". Furthermore, when the setting is somewhat archaic (till the 20th century) it's "Was sagt Ihr?" BTW. 3rd person would be "Was...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news
I apologize for being slightly off topic here, but this talk about the german version of DB is of interest. I had no idea that they released a new set. I only have the old one. I'm actually kinda torn between Viz, because I really like the size and quality and the one from Carlsen due to apparent s...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news
Having said that, I'm told that the German translation was only a slight step up, as their manga translation--which was the basis for their dub scripts--wasn't that great either. It took its share of liberties, but altogether it was pretty good. I'm sure these recent "let's do it as good as hu...

Also the new dub has a dubbed version of Cha-La-Head-Cha-La (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPPX196-ohc) that interestingly uses the German instrumentals of the song. Very interesting. This is not only the German instrumental version but EXACTLY the same cut of it. The version for the TV airing has...
