Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Krillin comes down to artstyle. Yes, they broke the fourth wall afew times early in the manga about him not having a nose, but gags aside, he is a human being. I would fully expect him to have a nose in live action. Come now, do you really think this fandom would accept a character entirely absent ...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

I'm not a big fan of Sean's Kaio voice so I wouldn't want that. I'm a practical effects fan so I would want it used whenever possible, I could live with mo-cap if I had to though. However, quality of the films aside, if audiences can except a puppet Yoda in TLJ, as well as make up and costumes for c...

Re: If Toei hadn't requested the Future Trunks arc?

Cell actually has a really creepy backstory and I love the whole bio engineering stuff. Him showing up as a complete mystery out of the time machine was fantastic. Just with his Perfect form, he just kinda fell flat and I was glad to see Gohan beat his sorry ass. Zamasu messed with the hero's family...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters" FUNimation English Dub Official Announcement and Discussion Thread

Even though I'm perfectly fine with Hebert as Gohan, part of me will always think a Brad Swalie quality to his voice would be abit better. Same with Yamcha having a Ted Cole quality.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

As far as I'm concerned any TFS line put into a non parody official dub is wrong. What makes that any better than this? :P Or this? Or, dare I say... This? I'm definitely too harsh on Funimation in general, but you can't deny they put a lot of unnecessary liberties in their dub scripts. TFS meme li...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Exactly, it's about realistic expectations when going from drawn page to live action medium. I love Batman the animated series, but I'd never expect a live action Batman to have sharp edged eyes or a literal square head, that's a given. How about chracter's like Bulma? You'd probably have to tone do...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

That, and the half assed editing, shitty cropping, and TFS like lines here and there.(wrooooong, just saiyin etc) It's watchable, but still drags and is very messy. Have they really added TFS-homage lines in the actual Buu Kai dub (and Super?)? As far as I'm concerned any TFS line put into a non pa...

Re: If Toei hadn't requested the Future Trunks arc?

It's kinda funny that both the original manga and Super arcs featuring Trunks was an overall result of other people giving Toriyama suggestions. In the end both arcs had there moments, Zamasu was a stronger Villain than Cell in the end imo though. I'd disagree. I honestly found Zamasu to be a reall...

I may not be a fan of GT, but if the idea is good enough and adds something to the characters and story, I'm for it.

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Must be that Toriyama magic that you think is so hard to replicate. There is a certain charm to it. C'mon, son! It's smiling poop on a stick :) a lot of that charm is in Super too, and can be done in a film. :D See how annoying it is when someone doesn't listen? Sure is Anyway, I've said what I wan...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Saying that it can't be done isn't a bad thing. It's as honest response as any. But it's not the point of the fucking topic . If you want to debate elements of effects and story sure, but when you clutter up my thread by turning it into a debate about whether a film is even possible? No, you are mi...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Finding the talent IS the hard part. It's the single hardest part. Splitting hairs againnnn, stop creating more and more pointless debates, Christ. It's pretty much ALL hard to an extent, filmaking is a challenging collaborative process. You don't just get all the talent and wave a wand and it's do...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Splitting hairs again, look at the topic of the thread . Finding the talent out there to do live action isn't the hard part. I never said the execution would be easy. It would require a lot of careful planning. DB is a pretty liner story of power growth, if you stick to that most changes would come ...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

Round in circles with your repetitive arguments and you strawman nonsense, while simultaneously picking and choosing what point to argue and ignoring my valid pints about GT, classic ABED. It's much easier for a TV to adapt a long serialized story like DB than it is for a film to do so, almost by vi...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread

Kuriboh being British is an issue then, since he obviously is having trouble hiding his accent. Nothing against him actually being British though, ( obviously ) I just don't think his Freeza voice sounds fitting enough. Why would it be a problem? He's British, so he plays it up for Frieza. Ayres &a...

but thanks for reading. Now who's being personal? I didn't put them down, at all. Downplaying there importance is just as bad. Funny that you can enjoy a series not written by Toriyama (and even defend it against a series he's actually behind that you haven't watched ) but claim a film studio...

Re: DB in live action: what does and does not work (pics)

. Kai was just Z stripped of the parts that weren't Toriyama. Of course Z had enough Toriyama magic to work because they never radically diverted from his story or his visuals.. GT? Strawman yep that's me, there's no more valid opinion than saying Toriyama is DragonBall and undermine all the talent...
