Re: Disappointing ending to Goku black arc?

The things everyone else mentioned did bother me to one extent or another, but ultimately they were all things I could hand wave away for one reason or another and just accept. Although there is a single exception that just really annoyed me. The entire arc is supposed to show that time traveling, a...

Re: Can Roshi read minds?

Roshi wasn't just the strongest man in the world at the beginning of the series, he was also one of the most cunning warriors with a massive arsenal of techniques of all kinds. Mind reading being one of many techniques at his disposal. Real explanation is what others have mentioned, it would be too ...

Re: Does King Kai hate Goku?

No, Goku was his student, and as such he cares very much for him, despite his occasional negative comments. Of course, I'm sure it irks North Kaio that Goku took so long to revive him, but that doesn't stop him from watching out for his star pupil. Only to Goku did he teach his most devastating desp...

Re: Favorite dragon ball minions?

Tambourine was a really cool minion that really drove Goku's saiyan instincts for life or death combat to new heights. Goku seriously had bloodlust for killing that guy. The battle where he kills him is really awesome. All of Piccolo Daimao's offspring are really cool in their own ways. Piano loyal ...

Re: A Discussion about Kaioken

Upon catching Bubbles in the manga, and hitting Gregory with the hammer in the anime, Kaio is filled with excitement because of how fast Son Goku completed the initial phase of his training. He thinks to himself that this student, this resilient saiyan, may be the one who can master the Kaio-ken or ...

Re: DB Movies 4 Pack

Keep the Movie 2 from the 3-pack, as the 4-pack version is riddled with frame rate slowdown. You might just be better off buying movie 1 by itself, as the 4 pack is only worthwhile for movie 3 and the Path to Power Special. The movie 2 from the 3-pack is unfortunately still the best version of that ...

Re: What the heck happened in Super's first timeline?

Much of that arc was pretty convoluted and difficult for me to follow. However, the best I can give (at least at this point after having only seen the arc once) is to consider it like the timeline Cell came from. He killed Trunks and went to the past. Then later, after having dealt with a different ...

Re: Question about Roshi's strength

Roshi seems to be a character that is hard to pin down on where he stands exactly, especially when he was relegated to background character by the second portion of the story [Dragon Ball Z] with his only real fighting performance there being in The World's Strongest theatrical feature. Given that t...

Re: Differences between the Turtle and Crane Schools

I agree with all the points you both made in response to mine. Good ways to flesh things out further. I even agree with what you said about Yamcha, the more I thought about it, the more I agreed. By normal human standards, he too was a prodigy. In comparison to everyone else, he just realized he cou...

Re: Differences between the Turtle and Crane Schools

There have been some good points made so far. I would like to mention one other major difference between the schools and their basic outlook on training and improving that seems to affect the students of each long term into the later arcs of the story. The Crane school emphasized ki mastery, and thr...

Re: What was happening in Dragon Ball on your birth week?

Nothing Dragonball related, as I was born in 1981.. I looked it up, and I was born shortly before the the first episode of that Anime started. So they were probably a few volumes into the manga by then. Couldn't find specifics beyond that.

Lord Crumb, No worries, we want people to be "that guy" in this thread. The purpose is to get accurate information about releases from various regions. Super Saiyan Swagger obviously took no offense to it. He was just going on his best guess based on what USA releases he'd read about. Any ...

Thanks for the info Coola, do you have any pictures of the Polish DVD releases? That chess set looks pretty cool, although having a bunch of Gotens for pawns would bother me I think.

Re: List of Dragonball media releases by region.

It is odd, but that first set is an unfortunate necessity if you want a watchable version of DB movie 2. The version included in the four movie set has serious frame rate issues, making it nearly unwatchable. I was so disappointed when I purchased that set because I primarily wanted it for the propo...

HakkaiBills93, that was some in depth coverage of the French releases, thank you for that contribution. It is very interesting to me to learn about these other releases. I appreciate the time you took to describe what each release included, that was very cool. Some of the cover art on your earlier r...

Super Saiyan Swagger, thank you for the write up. That is really cool that they release complete sets and collector packages like that in Australia. Thanks for sharing this info, I'm always interested in hearing what releases others are getting. I'm glad you all are getting the movies on Blu-ray finally. List of Dragonball media releases by region.

Hello everyone, I had a new topic idea that I've been curious about for a while now. I'm interested in hearing from our members from other regions of the globe (as well as any North American based members with info on the subject). I've kept up with Funimation's releases all these years in my own co...

Re: So Why Didn't Freeza Train After Namek?

Fan conjecture as it may be, it is the most likely explanation. Despite disagreeing elsewhere in other discussions, I have to come to Cog's defense here and say that I agree with and support his answer to your initial question. Freeza was akin to Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker in a sense. He was more ...

Re: Does the number of time rings make any sense?

Upon first seeing the Cell arc in the late 90's (with horribly inaccurate fansubs), I had tons of questions about the time travel in Dragon World. I asked other long time fans about it back then, and I received all sorts of various interpretations and explanations for the events of that arc. Most of...
