Re: Does the Genki-Dama have the user’s power?

There's no need to complicate things for the sake of a battle power argument in the infamous topic of Majin Boo. Whether the Genki-dama takes only their energy or not, the attack can be backed by power once it gets kickstarted, since Vegeta suggested to take Ki up to their limits and not just Genki ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

I think it would be really interesting and nice to see Goku react to one of the characters dying from natural causes. I would like to see that concept and Goku's reaction knowing the implication, but Dragon Ball is so far removed from the dragon ball hunt that it used to for the quest to have a mea...

Re: Why does Toei still call Super Saiyan Blue, "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan"?

I think that the term that fans coined "Saiyan Beyond God", when applied to God Ki in base, is the misinterpretation. A Saiyan who is beyond legend (either Super Saiyan or SSG) gained control of God-like power and transformed (into Super Saiyan Blue). That is the reason why he's beyond God...

Re: Why does Toei still call Super Saiyan Blue, "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan"?

I don't fully agree with that. Super Saiyan God is a transformation, above their natural Saiyan selves, but with the lineage of a God. "God" by itself does not necessarily mean that it's higher, because it appeals to the idea of a role, thus the need to point out that it's a new form. If I...

Re: Why does Toei still call Super Saiyan Blue, "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan"?

To me, God-like Super Saiyan was the prototype of Super Saiyan Blue in Battle of Gods, when Goku transformed with the power of SSG still burning in him, or when Goku Black fought Vegeta without ascending, above that of SS2 and 3. It's similar to Super Saiyan at full power having surpassed the grades...

Re: Has Toriyama retconned the “Ultimate Gohan”?

If we don't treat it like a transformation, but a state that he put himself into, then it's without changing form, because his eyes express only intent, otherwise give us a sequence of Super Saiyan into Ultimate. I can imagine the movie going with Gohan powering up SS2 to its max before Ultimate cle...

Re: Do you think that Toriyama took inspiration from psychoanalysis concepts?

Ur medico? Or majoring in psychology? On topic, its simple desire to be strongest under the heaven/Tenkaichi Budoukai, then strongest in the universe. Toriyama would never have Id, ego, superego in mind while writing all those chapters. Just my thoughts No, I'm a designer, so I take interest in dif...

Re: Do you think that Toriyama took inspiration from psychoanalysis concepts?

It's interesting what you suggest. And you mean to say this "ultra awareness" stage could be only applicable to vegeta? his own equivalent to ultra instict? I did not think of it as another complete stage compared to its Omen, because I believe that Vegeta's Ultra Ego is not incomplete, b...

Do you think that Toriyama took inspiration from psychoanalysis concepts?

Those concepts being id , ego and superego ? Id is oneself, the "it" of a person, or his instincts more closely resembling the term used in DBS. For example, somebody has a sexual drive that he might express through his behaviour, or hide due to his conscious decision to manipulate the oth...

His eyes were casual beneath those lenses 10 years later. Perhaps you wanted to say that they were not angular at all times.

Re: Has Toriyama retconned the “Ultimate Gohan”?

Ultimate Gohan was as permanent as Vegetto used to be. It's just something left up in the air which fans clinged to for as long as there was time to discuss before the update. A clash of ideas took place, some tears were shed, but in the end: Ultimate is not permanent. Even then in the Boo arc, aft...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

Is “saiyan beyond god” still a thing? I remember it as it was during the RoF movie, Pre-super-anime days. But a quick look at the wiki indicates that it’s still in the DBS anime version of that arc too. Are goku’s SSG transformations in later sagas somehow enhanced by his “saiyan beyond god” state?...

Re: Should the psuedo 3d art style be used for the franchise in general going forward?

I don't want the franchise to go forward more than it has. The technology is good to hire more artists from video games, or for more video games to be produced under Toriyama's style. Perhaps Cell won't be missing due to his spots

Re: Before SSGSS’ reveal

It was not without build up. In the previous movie, Goku transformed into Super Saiyan with the power of SSG still burning in him, and it was confusing, because people thought that it was a permanent change, but Resurrection of F made things simpler by changing its color and naming it differently. I...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"

Perhaps this time Goku and Vegeta will be busy on Beers's planet so that they don't come back to Earth and save the day. It would be the third time after both Resurrection of F and the Moro arc. The latter at least had an excuse for recreating those events in manga form since Freeza's movie was not ...

Re: Japanese vs English names

Why not be more descriptive in title instead of using nouns?

"The Sphere of Energy"

Like Kaioken was once "The Fist of Lords" in some countries. You can have these names separate from their chants since they're usually gibberish in battle.

Re: Why are so many DB creators becoming subject to Toei's wrath?

Elevator pitch kind of response: "Do you want to sell art? Make your own! It's not popular? Get it to be! Could you not be another artist? You could! So don't copy his work." Is anyone mentioned in this thread repackaging Dragon Ball as it is without any changes whatsoever? No? Then they'...

The unseen timeline is History 4 according to this: https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-53d5cf26734a955bb7dd30fa5c476262 When you join Toyotaro's depiction of time travel: https://i.redd.it/5trmanacnb2z.jpg You get something that is simpler (although it was only made by me): https://i.postimg.cc/v...
