Re: One Piece Remake, fans are so lucky...
Most of that also wouldn't really benefit from a Kai style edit because really, the first 100 episodes of One Piece were mostly paced well. I think it wasn't until sometime in Skypiea that stuff started getting noticeably padded. I am truly baffled by statements like this. Did we watch different sh...

Re: One Piece Remake, fans are so lucky...
The One Piece remake is kind of ridiculous to me, because A. We just got that with the Live-Action, and B. The regular series is still going. What is this meant to accomplish? Sure, One Piece's pacing is shit, but they obviously could have DB-Kai'd it with even easier results due to the original foo...

Re: AB Video to release original Dragon Ball on Blu-Ray
They didn't cut any filler, and in fact, the Naruto HD episodes are cropped to 16:9. It's not worth it. The One Pace guys are working on a recut of the show themselves, I recommend just following that instead.

Re: If faced with the choice of sacrificing the franchise's massive popularity
What? Gatekeepers are toxicity breeding more of itself, not the solution to toxicity. Unless you're conflating them with effective moderators or something.

Re: AB Video to release original Dragon Ball on Blu-Ray
Why are we talking about this like we already know some group is working against what AB is doing or trying to do here? We haven't had any news from them since the first box released, period. I don't think there's any reason to assume anything has happened, since we know AB to go slow on these thing...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
There's something funny about using a seven year-old video to claim this about a show that's been off the air for five years.

Re: If faced with the choice of sacrificing the franchise's massive popularity
This is basically the question being asked here and my answer would have to be no. Fans are already doing a great job of preserving the series with unofficial releases and translations. A big and dedicated fanbase will treat a series better than most official shareholders would. Are you serious? It...

Re: If faced with the choice of sacrificing the franchise's massive popularity
Popular culture is plastic. It comes and goes with the will of the wind and is in no way a thing worth "protecting", as if there's even a way to do that. If Dragon Ball wasn't the success it was, other properties would be. It's just inevitable that people are going to make stuff, because p...

Re: Character You Wish Did More?
The thing about most of the kids is that it's less that I want them to take up space in mainline Dragon Ball and more that they should be developed as protagonists in their own right, either for a spinoff or as an actual next generation of DB after the false start that we saw in Z. Pan and Uub certa...

Re: Character You Wish Did More?
See, almost everyone who "doesn't do much" I wouldn't mind if they didn't have to keep showing up. I liked Launch sometimes, but her gimmick wore thin after a while and she didn't really have anywhere to go after that (and really, do we think her thing for Tenshinhan would give her more ag...

Re: Piracy in Draon Ball... And other things
It's a big enough anime hit and a lot of people, especially Americans, are super aversed to reading subtitles that I'm going to go out on a limb and say lots of people are watching the dub. I also think online discourse and discussion tends to have more "hardcore" fans (who are more likel...

Re: Piracy in Draon Ball... And other things
I just don't really think that's true? I haven't known the One Piece dub to be "hated" by most people for a long time, and a lot of what remains is people who think the show is still being dubbed by 4kids. One Piece's popularity in English-speaking countries has been fighting an uphill bat...

For One Piece? I don't think most people are watching the dub of that show.

Re: Piracy in Draon Ball... And other things
Kanzenshuu, to my knowledge, discourages piracy and related discussion for legal reasons, not reputational ones. We wouldn't be host to discussions of fanedits that depend on unofficial distribution for viewing if we didn't understand that piracy is not an inherently corrupt action. I'm a firm conse...

That's not the best AI can do.
Nevertheless, whether it sounds pleasant isn't really the argument here. At least, I don't think it should be.

I wasn't talking about Kai. I'm saying that, hypothetically, someone could do a more ambitious filler cut than DB Recut if they didn't have to worry about soundtrack clipping.

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Kai Recut [COMPLETE]
Neural Net voice separation has come a long way recently. You could probably do a lot with a new filler cut if you didn't have to edit around the OST.

Re: Chi Chi and Goku should have gotten a divorce a long time ago
Goku and Chi Chi's problem is more a narrative, writing-related one than anything else, really. Toriyama wants us to see them as a couple who bickers or has differences or even bothers each other, but ultimately still love each other. I fully believe this boomer-ass relationship dynamic is the inten...
