Re: Did the series need Saiyans?
Oh, though without Saiyans, there would be no Super Saiyan, and I would lost the single most memorable moment of my childhood. Well, there can still be Super Saiyan. Just... refer to it as something not to do with Saiyans. We've all seen the video of the guy who thinks he's a Super Saiyan... Imagin...

Re: Which DB series got the worst dub?
The dub that covers the artificial human arc onward, yeah. I've heard many people call it the blue water dub before, sorry about that

Re: Did the series need Saiyans?
But Goku always wanted to become stronger than everyone else, his dream throughout Dragon Ball was to become Tenkaichi. I understand your point about how his personality and everything special or unusual about him changed to just "he's a Saiyan", but I think his ambitions were always the s...

Re: Which DB series got the worst dub?
The Blue Water dub of DBZ, as I remember it, was pretty awful. The Funimation dub was much more consistent and much higher quality, also, complete.

Re: Dub mistakes in the original Dragon Ball
Oh, I just didn't recall hearing "power level" any time apart from that one incident, and then every five seconds from when Raditz landed onwards, so it seemed like power level was just a Freeza term that everyone else adopted.

Re: Dub mistakes in the original Dragon Ball
After drinking the ultra divine water, Goku says he can sense Piccolo's "power level" rather than "energy", "ki" or "presence". Not only is he not measuring the ki, but simply detecting it, but the term "power level" is one that comes from the World ...

Who does Mr Satan compare to in terms of strength?
Mr Satan is clearly a really strong guy who could beat the crap out of any of us, and he'd probably be one of the strongest people on Earth in the real world. Was there ever a point in the series where his strength would have been on par with the other characters? Perhaps he could beat Colonel Silve...

Re: Why does FUNi release DBZ on BD/DVD when they'll cancel
I understand peoples' frustration at this, I share it. I dislike that the bricks are the only complete release of the whole series of Dragon Ball and DBZ. As much as I like the Faulconer audio sometimes, I just can't watch the orange bricks, which means I'm stuck with blue bricks for Dragon Ball, DB...

Re: Random Dragon Ball Discoveries
Okay, thanks. It's just that which concerns me. I'm worried about damage to the boxes that's invisible from the angle of the photo, or laser burn on the discs. Also, I'm guessing the extra gifts aren't included since they're not in the picture, but I can't tell from the description.

Re: Random Dragon Ball Discoveries
I think the bit I really need to understand is the part that translates to: " the state of the commodity goods is opened, the prominent cases such as pain, disk, BOX is not available. Little damage, dirt, scratches, tears, Threading, etc. Please pardon burnt. Fine place, nervousness, methodical...

Can someone who can read Japanese tell me about the condition of those Dragon Boxes and what's included with them? Does anyone know how often they appear this cheap?

Re: Should there have been a couple more arcs in Dragon Ball
I like the idea of having a better and longer Garlic Jr saga, because that story did have potential, it was great that it wasn't just "villain appears > do training > kill villain in fight". To avoid continuity errors there could be another Garlic Jr arc showing his first defeat either bet...

Re: Random Dragon Ball Discoveries
A while ago I found these music books, I don't know what's inside them and I can't find any information on them anywhere. The listings have been there for a while so I'm hoping they survive until I have some spare money. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360445466391?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p39...

Re: If you had free reign over a DB reboot
I know what I'd re-do for one. I know it may sound a bit silly but I would make the earthlings and other non-saiyans in the spotlight for EVEN longer than they were in Z :D I always hated how they became minor characters and forced to sit and watch as Goku and the others fought against Cell, Freeza...

Viz manga box sets - should I sell the boxes separately?
I've put both my Dragon Ball and my Dragon Ball Z manga box sets on eBay, as I know they've become rare and valuable and I want the Kanzenbans. I've been contacted twice by people who want to buy just the boxes by themselves without the actual manga, though. Is it a good idea to sell them that way? ...

Re: Funimation Dragon Boxes Buying
You've done well so far. I ordered DBox 2 from several sites during my search and all of them had to cancel my order. I ended up buying one on Red Flag Deals for $125 (I think), and I had to buy a fairly expensive DBox 4 too. Then after I'd done that a new wave of cheap ones appeared >.<

If you had free reign over a DB reboot
Imagine you have the rights to the Dragon Ball franchise, and a ludicrous amount of money to spend on re-imagining it. You could make a movie, a manga series, an anime, a live-action TV series or anything else you can think of, it could be highly faithful to the original or diverge quite a lot, it c...

Re: Which character was given the worst dub lines?
Freeza, the unimportant characters and the narrator. Look at the very first episode of DB, "Their lives were about to undergo some radical new changes... Toadallyyyy radicaaaal". Then we have things like "These apples are roar-tten!" pretty much every episode the minor characters...

Re: Could the filler have been useful to the Anime?
I'm also a big fan of the characters just being people, hanging around at Kame house and stuff. I like seeing that they're all great friends. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of Bulma and Vegeta's relationship developing, too, and I'm glad we got to see a bit of Goku and Chichi's wedding ceremony at the ...
