Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0
I still enjoyed the episode but I'm not going to forget about its faults. How is reusing animation a "fault" exactly? It's not like Toei is trying to hide the fact that they've been reusing animation; they're pretty obvious at pointing it out. Is it a short-cut to pump out episodes on tim...

Re: Super Episode 129 (4 March 2018)
Goku seemed kinda “emotionless” in a few of his transformations. It’s the intimidation factor. When SSJ and SSJ3 First appeared, Goku had his serious face on. Depending on where the series goes after this arc, we might have to wait before we see a more comical/normal view of his transformation. Kin...

Re: I made a compilation of all DBS Toriyama's character designs, what do you think of his artstyle?
I love it. It reminds me of old school DragonBall, which is my favorite series in the franchise. It probably wouldn't look good in animation, unless the correct studio handled it. I would enjoy a manga adaption with this style though. This looks absolutely nothing like oldschool Dragonball. I didn'...

Re: Super Episode 129 (4 March 2018)
Man, people here give this show so much shit. I thought it was a pretty great episode, and afterwards I came here to discuss it and all I read is complaints about the animation. When I watched it I didn't even notice anything reused except for that bit from the OP of the exchanging of punches. Yet a...

Re: The amount of recolor forms is getting ridiculous
The ironic thing about all the different color transformations is that it's what used to give people boners after DBZ, at the beginning of the internet when everyone was trying to find info about AF series and other doujinshi.

Re: DB for owning digitally?
Sorry guys, I was not clear in my OP. I was talking about the anime. I believe all the series is up for purchase digitally on Amazon from DB-GT but only the dub. Some of Kai is available dubbed as well but only the first 3 seasons The first 3 seasons of Super are also available on Amazon and dub &a...

DB in style of CGI?
So this is a fun thought that occurred to me lately due to 1) seeing more and more anime being produced in this style (especially in Netflix) and 2) Super's style leaving more to be desired. How would you feel if the next DB series were to be done completely in CGI? It's been implemented before, in ...

DB for owning digitally?
Is there a way to own any of the DragonBall series digitally? Not to stream watch on Crunchyroll or Funimation, but actually own and download via a service like iTunes? Is the only option of owning a DB series by buying physical discs?

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0
[spoiler] What? Higher budget = more skilled animators hired, better overall skilled staff (directors, writers, etc) hired; less cheaply outsourced animation from overseas to save money. That's the type of logic a lot of people go with because it totally makes sense in other industries, but it's no...

people starting coming up with theories No they're not, they're just talking out of their asses. A theory is something that could actually make sense, not pulling at straws to try and come up with a "OMG"-type of revelation that would never happen. There are many things in Super that make...

Re: Mastered Ultra Instinct [Spoiler Discussion Thread]
Transformations are just a part of Dragonball, complaining about them is like complaining about new techniques or a new big bad villain. Still can't believe after years of DBAF fanart we now have an official white haired form. Transformations became "a part of Dragon Ball" by the Ce...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0
My dudes, budget has a negligible impact on a show's animation quality. That's all on the schedule and skill of the animators. What? Higher budget = more skilled animators hired, better overall skilled staff (directors, writers, etc) hired; less cheaply outsourced animation from overseas to save mo...

Like 18million. Inaccurate numbers, otherwise DBS would be the best animated show in history.jeffbr92 wrote:And how much is that in dollars?Baggie_Saiyan wrote:How accurate is ANN? Cuz they project DBS costs ¥118,821,120 to produce per episode. That's just f**king nuts if true.

Re: Your thoughts on the Tournament of Power compared to the Dragon World's other arcs
As someone mentioned before, it feels too much like American cartoons. Too episodic, with a "villain of the week" vibe to it, where most of the conflicts were resolved within 1-2 episodes to really feel any weight or seriousness to them, especially when you knew the end game was Goku vs Ji...

Re: Your favorite soundtracks/themes from Super?
Unfortunately, I don't think Super contains a very good soundtrack, but that's just because my expectations are too high after DBZ. The only one I've liked is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecrjOGkDv6c Because it was different than anything heard so far. While the rest of DBS music does not remind...

Re: If there is a new series, what title would you suggest?
Dragon Ball Ultra actually makes sense if they pick up where Super will end, not only because of Goku's Ultra Instinct but because Ultra sounds something a Japanese animation studio would pick to name its show to market it outside Japan. And add a couple exclamation points.
