Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news (edited for mike
As far as the new dub goes, I watched everything until episode 11 so far. Despite being the censored version for now (the uncensored one will come up in September and we don't know what the differences will be right now), it is addictive! A really great job, and a great interpretation from the actor...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news (edited for mike
It's not a big surprise, but the subtitled version kinda proves to be mostly a rushed job to have a few weeks' exclusivity and to make people wait for the French dub. Main complaints are that the subtitles are filled with missing letters (every "special" letter which doesn't exist in Engli...

Re: Dragon Ball characters project (Render packs)
That was a great idea!! If a few of them are a bit akward, a huge part of them are amazing! Plus, it gives us artwork for characters who usually don't have any artwork, and for a "new style" feel for the characters we already have pictures for, so it's interesting in every way! Let's just ...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news
The trailer for the first version of the French Kai is on (the first version is the uncut subtitled one, then there will be the censored new dub and then the uncut new dub). No footage of the show itself in this trailer, but we can see that it is named Dragon Ball Z Kai like in America, as it is pro...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news
I never thought a manga would ever be aired on TV with the original audio and subtitles until I heard about this! And I'm surprised that there will be a censored version in France too. Let's hope that it is handled like in the US: lines recorded both in censored and uncut versions. I wouldn't want t...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news
Hmmmm....so it sounds like the appeal behind the new French dub will be like the appeal behind the new English dub--namely, that it will be done right (for the most part) this time. Way to go, France! Precisely. It's the same appeal I guess, and I hope they do a good job that will satisfy French fa...

Re: French Dragonball Kai sub and dub news
I think it will definately have the Kikuchi score. Toei is going to choose the easy way, they won't spend time checking which tracks of Yamamoto are "inspired by other works" or are fully original. They'll go: "there might be a problem with Yamamoto's score, we just drop it forever an...

Re: The original french DBZ casting is dubbing Dragonball Ka
I think they will use this occasion to update the translation to what it really is, being closer to the new translation of the manga than to the original french script of the TV series. Let's hope so. The fact that they will use the same actors both makes me hopeful and scared. The voices themselves...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Oh, my mistake then. It's great that Kikuchi's score was recorded with a huge, symphonic orchestra absolutely out of reach for worldwide TV series, I'm glad he was given a high movie budget for his music. When Yamamoto had the right to record 2 orchestral tracks in all the history of Dragon Ball , b...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
But... is replacing an old soundtrack simply because it's "old" and thus "outdated" improving a work? Would Citizen Kane be improved if the original soundtrack got replaced with something more modern? Would you advocate the next release of that movie be rescored in such a way, s...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Damn, take the franchise seriously, eliminate or manipulate all elements that might make it's not taken seriously (= anything outdated) My own opinion is: to me, the show has to forget what it was back then and be reborn to fit nowadays standards if we want it to live on, both in the world and in o...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
If Kikuchi is involved, ask for authorization to take music directly from other recent anime he's done, or ask him to make a few new pieces, but not even one old piece, not for the beautiful ending we've expected. Don't end a great show with low quality episodes ruined by the sound taking all the e...

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Oh no!! Please, no, no!! Toei, don't ruin Kai for the few last episodes!! Create some new music if necessary, there's time if airing is suspended, but please, please Toei, don't use the 80s-90s outdated flat soundtrack! Use it for reruns for all I care, but don't sacrifice the few last episodes in a...

Re: Kai Episode 95 (6th March 2011)
I still have to watch this episode, but reading that Courage Fills The Heart was used for Goku's scene makes me excited! They understood that it's not a bad moment but a most beautiful one, the last seconds during which Goku gets to live before going forever (or so it is thought at this point)... an...

Re: Kai Episode 92 (6th February 2011)
Agreed man. The new art is so ugly. Someone posted the new eyecatchers in this thread http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af103/Goku100xKamehameha/d637a941.png God. The characters look laminated and just look how they've drawn Gohan's face.. It looks atrocious. You'd think that after fifteen years T...

Re: Kai Episode 91 (30th January 2011)
A little off topic, but I think I found the perfect theme for the 'BIG' transformation next episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUOnSjYqBVE&feature=related I'll be disappointed if they don't use this. We'll find out tomorrow though, I can't wait!!! I'll cry if thy use 'A Moment For Shudderi...

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
My opinion so far is that Dragon Ball Kai will go on hiatus when the Cell era ends, so to conclude the first run of the series, they release the as-of-yet-unreleased tracks, meaning all stripped-down versions of available tracks that we've been able to hear so far in the show (see Kenisu's explanati...

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
I can't imagine the show being canceled, that just wouldn't fit with everything so far. The show being moved to another timeslot is a possibility, apparently it's not the first time such a thing happens. But what I think is that they might take a few months hiatus. They've been going on through the ...

Re: Kai Episode 82 (21st November 2010)
I was truly impressed with the beginning of the fight. Not only did The Lone Warrior fit perfectly, but the graphics and special effects were amazing in this new version!! They now made that regular scene one of the legendary scenes of the series, to be memorized as "Trunks' big moment" in...

Re: Dragonball Raging Blast 2 Japanese Trophies!!
That's not normal, I saw the list of trophies on screen and they're supposed to be translated. However, it might depends on if your country too, maybe there's some kind of glitch, but that seems unlikely. More likely, if you turned your console system into another language for fun (like Japanese cau...
