Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a incredible writer.
I also enjoyed this chapter. There were a lot of callbacks but I've come to accept that in modern DB since it's a revival. I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking or one of my favorite arcs but I had fun reading it and looking forward to what came next.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
The Moro arc will most likely end next chapter, making this 25 chapters long plus the end of chapter 42. This could fit perfectly in a 26 episode anime season if every episode covers one chapter with great cliffhangers at the end. That sounds about right. I do think there was a lot of padding maybe...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
This guy gets it . DBS is an midquel as in it takes place between two points in the story. If it retcons EoZ, it would be the first midquel I've ever seen that erases the part of the story that original came after.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I doubt that they will make a movie set after Broly but before Moro. Moro’s arc begins with Goku teleporting back from Vampa, so there’s no way to fit a movie there unless they intend to overwrite Moro’s arc and I just can’t see such a thing happening. After the recent interview, it seems Toriyama ...

Re: Super or GT poll
I think you're right overall, although it would be interesting to see how it'd fair if it didn't have Toriyama's name attached to it. BoG might've been a standalone movie without Toriyama. I'm not sure how well it would've done or the budget if he wasn't involved. The last three One Piece movies wh...

Re: What is your fav Shounen besides Dragon Ball?
I haven't watched a lot of anime so most of what I've seen would be considered pretty mainstream. Dragon Ball would be my favorite and one I revisit the most. The rest aren't in any order: -One Piece (It's super long so I've only seen the fan recut, One Pace, that removes filler) -Yu Yu Hakusho -Fis...

Re: Super or GT poll
My other problem with GT is the characters are even more wasted: - Gohan really does nothing in GT. His Super portrayal isn't great but it's leagues beyond what he was in GT - Piccolo shows up for pretty much 1 arc and dies immediately - Trunks despite being a main character actually does very litt...

Re: Super or GT poll
But it doesn't keep the meaning of that ending in tact. True but what's done is done and only way to retain the original meaning would be a reset or something. The Moro arc implies Uub inherited Grand Kaioshin's god ki so I guess that's what they're going with to explain why Goku would still be exc...

Re: Super or GT poll
Another one of these threads :P. I've ranted about what I didn't like about GT and Super in the past and rather forgot about them now. I'll only lists what I felt were the positives. GT +Goku's characterization. +Retired characters were allowed to stayed retired. +The concept of an Oozaru/SSJ form a...

Re: Compared to Super's Version of Goku, He was More Ruthless as a Kid
True, but both Cell and Pui Pui were attacked in the heat of the moment if you catch my drift. They weren't grovelling on the floor, or incapacitated, or retreating like the others. Goku would probably respect Pui Pui somewhat for still having the stones to fight back and die on his feet even after...

Re: Why do some have a dislike of the climax of the Zamasu/Black arc?
I had other issues with the arc but it's in the past now so I try to forget about it. What makes it easier is that there being two Zenos in the present is the only lasting consequence. Trunks and Zamasu were never brought up again aside from one panel in the manga. I would definitely skip it in a re...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The Digimon reboot is scheduled for 66 episodes so it should end in August or September. Any news if Toei is working on another anime that could take its timeslot? It might be announced at Jump Festa since it hasn't been revealed which franchises will have panels there this year.

I think it's time to admit that Toyotaro is a writer.
https://prodimage.images-bn.com/pimages/9781974709410_p0_v1_s1200x630.jpg On each volume cover, Toyotaro is only credited as the artist. Upon further research, I have to reason to believe that he might in fact be a writer as well. Evidence : -He uses a Pomera digital memo pad to write his scripts. ...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.
That pool was from 2018. The Zamasu arc ended in 2016. My original argument is that, if DBS created many popular and unique characters that stood out for the fandom, then clearly it's not JUST fan-service. I can agree with that but no revival is going to be 100% fan service and there are usually so...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.
In that case, Zamasu would actually rank very high. The thing about Zamasu is that we might distinguish between Goku Black, Immortal Zamasu, and Fused Zamasu, but ultimately they are the same character, the same person. So, if that list only had one version of Zamasu (as with every other villain th...

Re: Compared to Super's Version of Goku, He was More Ruthless as a Kid
Context is key with those three. He wasn't the one pulling the trigger on Cell or Pui Pui. By the time Cell was at a point of helplessness, Gohan was fighting him and Goku was simply egging him on from the sidelines with the others which is easier than doing the deed yourself, probably because Picc...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Toriyama's eternal law: The "strongest" enemy is "always" current. That's why Goku said Moro is the strongest [toughest, but in context, he's talking strength] he has ever faced. I warned yall about this. Yep we have actual confirmation now. No need to look through old interview...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.
Again, it’s like asking us to imagine if a flawed horror film would have succeeded as a comedy with the same flaws. Would ... would it even have the same issues if we have to imagine it reconceptialized as an entirely different genre? What does that hypothetical leave us to meaningfully comment on?...

Re: I think its time to admit that Toyotaro is a terrible writer.
Especially since Boruto, if I'm not mistaken, is very unpopular and isn't doing well in sales, it was even dropped out of weekly jump. This is despite Boruto being the official sequel of Naruto Shippuden and supervised by Kishimoto himself. So it's not like Super had "everything handed to him&...
